Hi Breu, 'definitely some interesting things in this poll. I had never heard of him until Alberto made a poll about him and told me about him. I found him to be rather fascinating and I didn't know half of what's on your list.

I suggest two edits:

#6: He held several patents for inventions in transportation and safety.

#1: I can't imagine many Americans or Canadians thinking that his stage name sounds international, memorable, or cinematic. We'd probably think that of his real name. Perhaps cut the last two sentences? (It's up to you, though, of course.)

Carlo Pedersoli aka Bud Spencer is a legend over here. I grew up with his movies in which he played with Mario Girotti aka Terence Hill. They both were a cinematic duo to a whole generation - what do I say - at least two generations who grew up with. Over here many people 35, 40+ do know the movies well.  I've made the edit in option #6.

For option #1 - " I can't imagine many Americans or Canadians thinking that his stage name sounds international, memorable, or cinematic.":

Yes - Americans and Canadians may not do that, but America isn't alone on earth. I know that most U.S.-Americans are very self-centred when it comes to world-issues.

"The name Bud Spencer was carefully chosen. "Bud" came from his favorite beer, "Spencer" from actor Spencer Tracy. It sounded international, memorable, and cinematic. Carlo Pedersoli knew exactly how a legend should beginn."

That what he has chosen in sight of world's cinema, which doesn't only mean America and Canada, but also Europa and maybe South-America. In the 1970s, 80s, 90s, Germany - and I guess also big parts of Europe - where so much into American pop-culture, most people - especially young people - loved mostly all of it and sucked it up like sponges. So it was popular to have an artist's name that sounds American-like.

We learned a lot about American culture through the movies, even though it's not every day's handling in life, which can only be understood when living there. And many film-companies followed the trends that became apparent. And that worked very well for Germany.

Even though he tried his luck overseas, in America and Canada he never reached the same success like in Europe. I guess the humor was not appropriate enough for parents to show their kids the rumbles he did with the villains. In Germany it was. The main areas where Pedersoli had his most hits were:

Italia (his home country), Germany, Spain, France, Austria and the Swiss

The lines of the option fit to these countries and the intention of Carlo Pedersoli. And it does well. Maybe you want me to implement a line to explain in the option? All in all I still think the text in the option is very correct, connoted to Europe and Bud. But I'm open for inserting a line for the U.S. and Canada. Do you want to suggest an additional line?

I changed it a little. What do you say?:

"The name Bud Spencer was carefully chosen. "Bud" came from his favorite beer, "Spencer" from actor Spencer Tracy, whom he admired. It sounded international, memorable, and cinematic for Europeans. Carlo Pedersoli knew exactly how a legend should begin."
