New Title Type Suggestion: Audiobook Narration
Greetings IMDB Community;
I have been tasked with updating a number of award categories in the IMDB database and have come across an anomaly on the
Title Type contributor page
(https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/edit), which is making it difficult to properly recognize some very noteworthy performances. Currently, there is no Title Type for Audiobooks, which also do not fall into any of the other existing title types listed on the aforementioned page.
There are a number of celebrities such as;
Seth MacFarlane, Barack and Michelle Obama, Tim Curry, Jane Seymour, Denzel Washington, LeVar Burton, Stephen Colbert, Neil deGrass Tyson, Mark Hamill, Trevor Noah, Nathan Lane, and
Reese Whitherspoon to name a few, who have won awards for audiobook narration. So if we could please add this Title Type it would be very helpful in correctly recognizing these and so many other great performances.
Alternatively, it might be more versatile to add
Narration as a title type, and then in brackets behind it, we could include (audiobook / audio drama / spoken word / live show announcement), like in the enclosed sample image. IMDB already has a title type for Podcasts, and I would respectfully suggest that this new title type is as big, if not a bigger performance category than podcasts.
If each of you could please take the time to vote and/or provide feedback regarding this idea request, it would be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully submitted for the IMDB Community's consideration,
