NEED HELP: Putting the em-PHA-sis on the Wrong Si-LA-ble NEED HELP
So I had an idea for a poll. And then I actually tried to make it and could only think of two options. Can anybody help me with some more?---------------------------------------------Whether by mistake or on purpose, mispronunciations are naturally humorous. Which of these memorable gaffes did you find funniest?List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls029541810

Jen: Doesn't the title of this poll allude to another example, from View from the Top (2003). where a character says "'Asses' the window" Instead of "Assess the window"? (Mike Myers' character responds, "You put the wrong em-PHA-sis on the wrong syl-LA-ble.") That was even in the commercials for the film.Another example: Elizabeth Berkley's character in Showgirls (1995) pronounces the designer Gianni Versace's name as "Ver-SAYCE". Jen,I have to believe that there are a lot more examples of mispronunciation in films. Much of comedy is based upon Spoonerisms, Malapropisms and other comic mispronunciations.Ted Baxter from the Mary Tyler Moore Show was infamous for mispronouncing people's names. Much of the comedy of Abbott and Costello is based on word play. At the moment, I cannot think of a specific example.Would this possibly be an example? Dr. Frederick Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein (1974) insisted that his last name is pronounced Fran-ken-steen not Fran-ken-stine. Igor insists that his name is pronounced Eye-gore not Ee-gore.
