Here is a different twist on the twisted ending to Miracle on 34th Street (1947). But since that one is taken, well just adapt this to the John Hughes remake, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110527/... which I didn’t see. I believe John Gailey was changed to “Bryan Bedford”.
“After wondering why a perfectly clean and furnished house with a tire swing in the backyard, was up for sale, Gailey decides to investigate the history of the house. After being imformed by Zac Bagans of “Ghost Adventures”, and the whole team of the Tennessee Wraith Chasers Of “Ghost Asyslem”, that the house a horrible axe murder and that the house considered to be haunted by ghosts and a demon. He decides to buy the house anyway because he thought the whole ghost story was bogus crap. A few weeks later, a possessed Susan kills them all. Some gift from Santa.
