Warrior is not based on a true story.

"may be loosely based on" is very loose. And even if that character is based on someone, that doesn't make the main story about the brothers real.

Rudy is fairly exciting, so that is what matters, but according to one of the people whom the film depicts, the movie is defamatory.

Can you tell me what the defamation was? I don't know that movie and must have trust in your opinon. But only, if it doesn't spoil too much. Maybe, I'll watch it some day. I read in the trivia that someone named Dan (obviously a trainer or something like that) who was upset about a scene with the jerseys the players lay down, which couldn't have happened there in real. Is it that you meant?

Yes, Breumaster. That's to whom I was referring. In order to dramatize the actual events, the character adapted from the real man was presented as something of a very unpleasant antagonist. Since Hollywood and so on and so forth are no strangers to doing stuff like that with "biopics", I'm inclined to believe him.

I understand. It's a little unpleasent, when somebody in real life is hurt by false depiction. I wonder, if I should take it from the list. But otherways - when users take the poll, they may take the discussion, too. And then they may read our lines and watch/remember the movie with other eyes. I will, if I get it to my screen! ;) Thank you for hinting me that fact.

Thank you for the mail. I let that movie stay on the list. You know it's a little hard, when you don't know a movie how to juge it. It's like criticising a book you didn't read. I don't know how you are involved in that. But I also know that Hollywood productions dramatize mostly everything in a much stronger way than reality is.We had named the problem right in our discussion. So people from outside can decide themself to join the discussion and read the truth about Dan Devine.

This movie is excellent! Outraging real story. Niki Lauda said in an interview with tears in his eyes that he saw himself on screen. I felt he said that in view of Daniel Brühl, who played his role. Brühl was excellent by copying how Lauda speaks, his duktus and dialect. I was upset, 'Rush' even wasn't nominated for best foreign language movie at 2014 Oscars.I just saw "Rush" 1 time in cinema. Then there were many other movies I got to see with my guys. But I always had a craving feeling about that movie, just wanted to see it again. It has so many true and touchy 80's moments I remembered and thinked of that time when I was a kid and followed the news about it. The spirit of the 80's lays on that movie. The atmosphere, that I as a kid theretimes didn't felt exact so, but it was good transported. The Atmosphere in the 80's at Germany were nearly as plain as shown in the movie.Later on Bluray I watched it exactly 1 time, because of other movies I was curious about. But in my deeper mind, I always want to see that movie again. It's great. I guess I know why you love this movie. For me, it feels authentic. I lived at this time while young, watching that from media. Now I seriously want to watch that again. :D

Just saw 'Rush' again. I'm again so impressed about the iconic real story and the (specially at the Tokyo race) stunning slowmo pictures. The atmosphere is simply great! After several times watching it, I'm still excited almost like the first time.

On the main page on IMDb where the main genres are showed,There is no tag like 'Biography' or 'True story' or 'based on true events' or something like that in the genres of this movie.)

I didn't see LeMans. I guess it's a cool movie, because you suggested it. Hope I will have some time to watch it, sometimes. Till then I got to rely on your experience of it. The main matter of the p.s. is not only about the sport itself. It has to be primary conected to a real live story of one or some real existing person(s) that actually live or lived. Or a special event in sport that was extraordinary that time.Well, there are different sources on that you can take the informations. I try to take the best ones and consider IMDb according to movie and tv business as a very serious source of information. If the information you seek isn't there, may be there are other serious sources. (Studios, Artists, etc.) When you know one, please give me some infos. I will consider then if I take it on the list. If I feel unsure, I won't.
