I'm surprised Roscoe Arbuckle is winning, but he gets my vote. The little I know about his case is that he was wrongfully accused and even after the lie was known, his career was destroyed.

It is a topic that may be relevant today, and also a chance to make his work better known, he was a star, but even today his movies remain mostly unknown.
