Live Poll: Sell That Product

You're Advertisement Manager in a large TV network company and your boss just gave you a list of movies that are scheduled on your network during the next month.

You have to sell the ad space during the commercial breaks. For which product will this be most successful?

List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls064342233/

Poll: http://www.imdb.com/poll/B-4Lau28EUs/

(please don't take this too seriously - suggestions are most welcome)

You MUST use Purell for the US version of Girl with the Dragon to Tattoo - Martin actually uses it onscreen!

FYC:
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes - Farmer's Market
Arachnophobia - pest control

This might be too on the nose, but Reese's Pieces for ET?

Also, first sentence should say: "You are an Ad Manager in a large..."

or leavey-2 could be ironic and go with M&Ms instead. Originally, ET was suppose to eat M&Ms, but the sponsorship with Mars, Inc. fell through.

Great suggestions, Dan. I added another 7. Your suggestion for A River Runs Through It gave me inspiration for a similar one: Deliverance (1972) - River rafting trips

I suggest you make the description capitalization consistent throughout - some of them have all words capped and some only have one or two words capped.

Cuckoo's Nest was set in a mental hospital, not a nursing home.

I think it would be funnier to take out Arachnophobia and use Pest Control with The Fly instead.

Jen,

Cuckoo's Nest is one of my favorite films. I am well aware that it is set in a mental health hospital. I've not seen TV ads for mental hospitals, but I have seen ads for nursing homes and drug rehabilitation clinics.

I thought the point was to advertise something that was either needed in the film or used in it. For nursing homes a better film would be Cocoon.

For 50 Shades, what do you mean by paint? Actual paint, building painting services, an artistic painter? You should expand on that description a bit.

FYC:
Ocean's 11 - batteries (remember when they went to blow the vault and the remote thingy was dead?)
Zombieland - twinkies, of course!

What about body paint? After all, in Fifty Shades of Grey, Grey is the name of the lead character. :-)

Ocean's 11 and Zombieland added.

I haven't seen 50 Shades, so I had no idea what the paint notation was referring to. Would you switch Arachnophobia for The Fly, please?

Funny poll.

My vote - Around the World in Eighty Days (1956) (Low Cost Holiday Packages)

I love this line in the intro - "please don't take this too seriously"
