"Best" anything is really tough these days where every element of every film is trying to out-perform something else. Seems it's less about the viewer's experience, and more about being bigger and better than their last project. I find modern films have dialogue which is either mumbled or screamed, and the sound effects are either imperceptibly subtle, or they're so piercing or booming like there's some competition to blow out speakers. There's very little middle ground. I tend to put the captions on most things I watch, because if you turn the volume up to hear the conversations, you'll get some unnecessarily intrusive sound that deafens you for the next 5 minutes.

Not sure how Tár was not nominated for sound.
