Le samouraï (1967) (even the epigraph suggests that the loneliness of a samurai can be only compared to that of a tiger)
Un homme qui dort (1974) (The Man Who Sleeps; the movie is so adamant on being lonely and isolated that the main protagonist is the only credited character apart from a female narrator)
Lunatics: A Love Story (1991) (a very underrated and undeservedly obscure movie)

I suggest Tangled.

Also maybe Barbie as Rapunzel.  Almost the whole point of the movie was Rapunzel being dominated and kept hidden from life by the witch.

I vaguely remember this being done before. Of course, it could probably be a multi-part list.
