Live Poll: Most Intense Scenes in Comedies

Just scenes from movies rated 6/10 or higher. The moment the scene describes does not necessarily have to be funny. It should be funny, but can also be an emotionally intense dramatic moment within the comedy. But it sure has to be a comedy or satirical movie. I tried to find some examples many filmbuddies would love, to be more able to reach general public with these examples.

I also know that comedy is a wide area with a few hundred loved movies. So it's one of the hardest genres to make a poll from. When you suggest, please show me an image and the text you like to put me on the list. That could be a flood of FYCs, so I will have to choose hard. I like to be convinced to put it on the list. No animation movies. It can take some time for me to answere on a suggestion, because I'm still on vacation.

Please remember the rule:
No scenes from movies that were used in earlier parts of this poll-series.

You may add scenes from Martin McDonagh movies like In Bruges, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri or Seven Psychopaths.
Dark Comedies are perfect for this. ;)

I'll consider that. But after my vacation. ;)

Hi, SeventhAr7. :D

It's ok with 'In Bruges'. But it's a long time ago, I saw that movie. Can you give me a little hint with the scene you would like to put me on the list? I guess you meant a scene with Ralph Fiennes. I slightly remember he had a bad weirdo role in this movie. Some extreme character. The scene in his house?

With 'Seven Psychopaths' I guess you meant a scene where Harrelson's character gets mad about another guy.

It was hard for me to take 'Three Billboards ...' as a comedy. But it has comedic scenes and is lead as comedy on IMDb, so ok. There I would take the last scene with Harrelson, when the voice-over tells the letter, right? But that would be more like a sequence than a scene. Please help me to get your input right. :)

Yes, dark comedys may be a good choice for these options. Wes Anderson always comes to my mind, but I couldn't figure out, what most-intense scene there might be.

Well my vacation was ending early by a night call to stand in for another workmate. So I'm back now. ;)

In Bruges are many but I find this funny and some how tense at the same time.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780536/...

It's the funny suicide scene. If you put on YouTube you will find it.

The chase scene and the hotel scene are also good scenes... so choose what you consider the best.

About Seven Psychopaths, the introduction of Woody Harrelson's character "Psychopath nr. 3" but I didn't find an image on imdb.

About Three Billboards, I think the Dixon beating scene.

My holidays are also starting to end, less time to watch movies and to be on this community.

What's good always ends kkkkk. Back to work.

Thank you for leaving me free hand in your suggestion. I think for 'In Brugges' I will take the scene I remembered the most. It was the one I took before as an example. So I let it stay.

For 3 Psychos I can't suggest without a fitting image, that visually contains scenes to remember. Maybe you have a resolution to that problem, so I can put the psychos on the list. ;)

For 'Three Billboards ...' (an ugly long title for a very good movie), I try to find an image for your suggestion. What about that?:

I don't know, if that is enough. What do you think?

I requested an image for the specific scene in "7 Psychos", will be added soon.

Thank you for the advice. You seem to know more than I do. I hope it gets live
and we can do the olympic-poll at the end. That would be faboulus. I that one
goes live, I put the cabdidates on the other list. I have some polls suggestions prepared to keep the project alive. Even if someone else can make a poll suggestion in this series.

I hope so too. That would be fabulous.
Currently i can only help you with advice, i have now less time to be here but it's always good to be involved on this thread.

Dan:

I'm sorry I forgot to put 'Poll Suggestion: Most ...' at the Headline of this Thread.
Could you change that, please. I'm just running in vacation-mode. So I forgot it.
Sorry for that.

Dan:

Sorry, I made up a new thread with a list of the movies that had been before in this poll series. I made that thread as a 'problem' thread, not an idea. I just remembered to not do this. The 'Problem'-thread can be deleted. I wanted to do that myself, but got no access to it. Seems like I'm still in vacation mode. Time to get up. Sorry for that. Hope you're ok. But when this parallel list is ok for you, it can stay.

The Cable Guy has quite a few of these. I would say either the nightmare sequence or the bathroom beat down.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try to put the nightmare sequence on the list. It's pretty intense. I know the most intense scene of the movie I remembered was the ending scene that was so sad, I cried a tear. I like to put a funny one of this movie on the list. But the bathroom scene isn't what I considered. I hope there is an image for the nightmare scene on the database. :)

I'm just thinking of the pencil scene of the movie, where Jim Carrey is a divorce lawyer. 'Liar Liar' - That was pretty funny, too.

Interesting list- I wouldn't call a lot of these scenes 'intense' myself although The Cable Guy was a pretty intense movie- Jim Carrey was pretty scary in that film.

I've got a few recommendations, one is for Meet the Feebles which is a hilarious puppet comedy yet it's a disturbing and at times intense look at adult concepts. The other one I'm not sure if I would call it a 'comedy' per say, again it's a pretty bleak film but at the same time it has lots of humour. The baby crawling scene in Trainspotting- that scene is downright traumatic! After that I never looked at heroin the same way again...

Can't plus that enough, Meet the Feebles is indeed quite intense and disturbing.

Hi James. :)

Despite not properly remembering the baby scene of 'Trainspotting' and considering it more as a drama than a comedy, I've put your suggestion to the list. That's because I know the movie was pretty intense and has some black english humor. I know it made a strange impression on me by the first scene, when main character did the toilet-diving. Strange! But remember - so it is no more candidate for a drama-poll-suggestion in that series.

Considering meet the feebles: What scene goes through your mind, what was the intense 'feebles'-scene you want me to put on the list? Is there an image about that scene? Please tell me. Help me, it's a long time - more than 20 years - when I watched that the last time.

Where do I begin with intense scenes from Meet the Feebles- the two candidates are either the Vietnam flashback (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097858/mediaviewer/rm786910208) or the ending massacre (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097858/mediaviewer/rm697113600).

Note: I just noticed you already added the Heidi massacre scene on the list.

Hi, James.

I just read the full synopsis and remembered the massacre the most. So I put it on the list. Do you think the Vietnam flashback is better? I might change that. But in my humble opinion, the massacre at the end would be the more memorable scene. To remember the most correct is a main idea of the image and text polls.

Yeah I think the massacre leaves more of an impact, although both scenes are pretty full on!
