The list page - https://www.imdb.com/list/ls561910192/?ref_=m_ur

The poll page: https://www.imdb.com/poll/tCmVnyzEwZQ/

Which is the best Hollywood movie that was wholly or partially filmed in Africa?
If you have one that isn’t listed here, or at least a better one than the ones already on the list, go to the safari here to mention it here to the list’s Bwana.

@Pencho15  thanks. I had fixed it. You got any better suggestions for the topic?

The new film The Woman King seems to be filmed in South Africa.

I guess you could cut the sequel Living Free.

I took “Tarzan the Ape Man” off since only one shot of it was actually filmed in Africa and replaced it with “Beast” (2022) which was filmed entirely in South Africa.

Please use this capitalization in the list title:

Hollywood Productions

That Were Wholly or Partially Filmed in Africa

In the question text, "were" should be "was":

Which is the best Hollywood movie that was wholly or partially filmed in Africa?

Hi,

There's two Africas basically: North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and I think the latter is the mostly associated to the name Africa.

I think you should make a distinction between both, North Africa is mostly used for "Middle-East"-like settings anyway...

I mean you could make a whole poll just with Morocco:

@ElMaruecan82 actually I was trying to get as many sides of Africa as I can. By accident a lot was from Morocco. Don’t forget about Kenya and the savannah.. I’m tried right now and I come back later.

The Gods Must Be Crazy (and sequels) was for years the most successful film and film franchise that was African made, filmed, and funded.  It is also one of the funniest movies ever made!

@TheOldJalapenoman I did consider that one be had to reject it on a technicality. It was made by a small local independent (I think) South African production company. This list is about Hollywood productions filming in Africa.

@Peter_pbn thank you. The update changes were done a few hours ago.

What was interesting that when I had made the update, I had check how many votes were cast. I was surprised that no one then cast a vote for ether of the two Star Wars films at first.
i had just checked again and saw people did vote for those two films.

no body voted for the Stewart Granger/Deborah Karr version of “King Solomon’s Mines”? It is the best filmed version of that story (and wisely not including one of the book’s corniest parts). It is true to the spirit of the book in trying to show off Africa in a positive light.

Normally, I wouldn't pick a sci fi flick, but the setting of District 9 was perfect for the themes depicted in the film
