Yes and yes to "The Thin Man" and "The Mummy"

I don't know this qualifies as a heartpounding movie but it does get pretty intense near the end as with the young Johnny Whittaker falling out of the church steeple and hangs by his belt loop from the gutter high off the ground. "The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!" (1966)

Can 'Get Out' be added in this list? It was great combo of comedy and thrill.

I saw them but if we're speaking of the 2017 movie, I didn't add it because it didn't have the "comedy" tag. I never rely too much on tags but this time, they're relevant because I don't want to include movies that are fun to watch and have elements of comedy without being primarily meant as comedies. otherwise, I would have included Pulp Fiction or Fargo from the start and the poll would be dead.

Many of these I don't think can be considered "classics."

FYC:
The Princess Bride
Goonies
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Shrek
Toy Story
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Up
Grand Budapest Hotel
Tropic Thunder

The Princess Bride
Goonies
Grand Budapest Hotel
Tropic Thunder

Great suggestions, two in the Top 5.

Fantastic Mr. Fox
Shrek
Toy Story
Up

No animated movies (I changed the question) since they're more likely to feature a fair share of comedy and action, I just rewatched Finding Nemo recently and it would fit the list as well.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I didn't include parodies (even the ZAZ movies like Airplane! or Hot Shots!) because the 'action' sequences are never shot in a way that makes you forget you're watching a comedy.  It's never meant to be taken seriously.

FYC:
The Sting
The King of Comedy
The Big Lebowski
The Hangover

Maybe not classics but maybe an option:
Flushed Away
Pineapple Express
Tucker and Dale vs Evil
Wild Tales
Zootopia

Well, I added the first four anyway :)
Trouble I had with The Sting is that since the movie carries elements from both drama and comedy with life-threatening situations and such, the presence of heart-pounding situations doesn't come as a surprise.
But since the film is about the combo between laughs and thrills, I guess the 'comedy' comedy movie will still stand a better chance.

Here is some suggestions to keep in mind only until you can find better ones. As I interpret you description comedies with action and maybe a few scares and tension too? This producing nervous laughs?
Have you looked at Preston Sturges / Harold Lloyd's The Sin Of Harold Diddlebock. It starts off slow. But once the lion comes into the story, it is hilarious. Yes Lloyd does his stunts with a real live lion at the other end of the chain. The film is the 1947 sound sequel to Harold Lloyd's silent classic "The Freshman" and even uses footage from the silent film.
Speaking of action comedies with animals, Howard Hawkes/John Wayne's "Hatari".
Bob Hope's (Also starring Dorothy Lamour, Peter Lore and Lon Chaney Jr.) spoof of film noir, "My Favorite Brunette".
If you want go with sports, "Slap Shot", and "North Dallas Forty".
With ghosts , "Ghost Chasers" (1951),
"Scared Stiff" (1953) (with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis) and it is the same story as "The Ghost Breakers" (1940) with Bob Hope.
- "Arsenic and Old Lace " (1944)
