I remember I suggested Billy Hayes from Midnight Express, maybe you should just specify that he wasn't actually gay in real-life but he had sexual relationships with the foreign inmate and that's an element Parker chose to remove.

Not a book but a play can be published, how about Brick in [i]Cat on a Hot Tin Roof[/i]

I really wish this would be made into a poll, especially as it's Pride Month. Maybe I should just dump it all together - it's been three years since I first suggested it and it's still unpublished... :(

I've added a few others based on the article Peter linked above.

I had Brick on my list originally but on the old board I got shouted down by people who claimed his gayness was still evident  in the film. I'll add him back in and see what happens...

New to the web site. Still learning my way around. But I thought John Cusack in the garden of good and evil, I thought the TV character was gay.

Welcome. And no. Kevin Spacey's character was gay (also in real life), John Cusack's was in real life and was straight in the film. They contrived a romance between him and the Mandy character, played by Alison Eastwood.

From the trivia section of the film's page: The character of John Kelso is loosely based on John Berendt, the author of the book, but he also never had a relationship with the real-life "Mandy" - Berendt is gay.

If this poll is about characters change from gay to straight, then Ice-Man may not be a good choice.


Ice-man was originally a straight until 2015. 

In 'ALL-NEW X-MEN' published in 04-2015, Marvel comics changed his orientation to gay.

"Ice-man was originally a straight until 2015."

In the 1980s "Defenders" title, Iceman had a romance with a character codenamed "Cloud" who had both male and female forms (shifting from one to the other constantly). Cloud was also depicted as a love interest for the (female) character Moondragon, creating a somewhat unusual love triangle.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! I put this one up first on the old system, and quite a while before we left it...I'm thinking at least two years ago (can't tell as it was originally a character list and had to get remade)! Wow! Thanks!
