You are correct they are not wins, and are not the preferred type of awards to build an EGOT on. Yet, technically they are Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and Tonys. They are honorary, but even those you must do something significant to earn one, so it is hard to say you didn't complete a quad. I think it better to list them last with an asterik and a explanation, and to let people decide for themselves. If you want to not even consider those six options, you can just place your vote elsewhere. Conversely, others can elect to vote for someone who has a non-competitive EGOT award, as one their four. Everyone gets the option to view it anyway they like. If I didn't list them, then I would be taking away that option. This way everyone gets to choose, and it doesn't really impact how others can view it, unless you deny them the option to vote for those people by excluding them from the answer pool altogether.

@RezaKJoi​ It is even possible that one or more of them will convert their EGOT completed with an honorary award into a full-blown competitive competitive EGOT with one more win. The Oscar seems to the hardest one to get and that most eludes those that are one win away.

On February 1st, 2026, Steven Spielberg won a Grammy for Best Music Film for his production of the John Williams documentary, Music by John Williams (2024). In doing so, he became the latest person to secure all four of the awards necessary for an EGOT. To date, only twenty-eight individuals have achieved the rare feat of securing all four crown jewels of the entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Twenty-two individuals secured their EGOT only in competitive award categories, while another six achieved their EGOT with a single non-competitive* award.

Thanks, I recalled there was a pre-existing EGOT-related poll, but when I looked I couldn't find his previous poll. I would disagree with the assessment that his poll wasn't thorough. However, his poll is nearly twelve years old, and the number of EGOT recipients has nearly doubled, so it now seems very dated and incomplete. Plus, I suspect it will become even more dated, as EGOT recipients seem to have seen exponential growth, especially in the past five years.

They have been awarding Oscars since 1929, Tonys and Emmys since 1949, and Grammys since 1959. So, I am most impressed with Richard Rogers, who took only sixteen years to win all four awards, but was the first to do so and completed it only three years after the Grammys started presenting awards and an EGOT was even possible. He also was the sole competitive recipient for the next fifteen years, until Helen Hayes and Rita Moreno secured theirs in 1977.
