I wish I got to you before this went live. But you still can add this to your list. Well, first you can add that the death of Morat also inspired the sucide scene in "The Godfather 2" also.

Now, the story behind Michelangelo's painting The Sistine Chapel's Ceiling is the inspiration for Irving Wallace's book and movie "The Agony And The Ecstasy " (1965). And since the prologue that plays with the film before the credits is considered a separate film, that's two movies. And here is an inside joke, since the main movie touchs on the feud between Michealangelo and the renaissance architect Donato Bramante, the architect of St. Peter's Basilica in the film. What the film doesn't tell you is that Bramante died before the finishing of the construction the basilica. The construction was then taken over by Raphael. When Raphael died, Michealangelo took over and nearly finished it. The dome that the camera flies over at the end of the prologue was designed by Michealangelo and it brilliant, but then so was Bramante's whole design for St. Peter's Basilica was brilliant also. But Michealangelo did have the last laugh in that feud.

- just that fresco itself: (and it doesn't capture the stuff by the windows. That is how massive this painting is.): https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/....

It's been live for three years. I don't like to add to them after a couple of months or so.

HI Jen, by any chance did you submit the opposite of this one? .
If not can I?
.
Favourite scene inspired by an artwork ? :/
I couldn't find anything related on Gs, but there's still a possibility.

You're just saying the exact same thing it already is, just in a different order.

Me: Artwork that inspired a movie or scene
You: Scene inspired by an artwork

The opposite would be a movie that inspired an artwork.

Your poll says "
PLEASE NOTE - you are voting on your favorite artwork, not your favorite film." Right?
.
by opposite I meant that it'll be focused on "the scene instead of artwork" :D.
.
It may be the same thing but from a different angle. O.O
