Live Poll: Face-Off: Oscar "Big Five" Quadruple Nominees

Only one person, Warren Beatty has "officially" secured a rare Oscars "Big Five" quadruple by securing acting, writing, directing and producing nominations for the same film. Amazingly, he repeated the feat just three years later. Prior to 1950, two others "unofficially" secured the same quad, but at that time Best Picture nominees were in the production company's name and not in the name of the credited producers.

Which same person Oscar nominated actor-writer-director-producer has the best total package in combined results for character portrayal, script writing, direction and the overall movie?

Although I really respect Warren Beatty, both Chaplin and Welles, I believe achieved much more in respective pictures.

I agree, plus he seems to have achieved his Oscar nominations with more help than most. He seems to be a co-director, co-writer, co-producer in all but one case. Although, he had two doubles with Bonnie & Clyde and Bugsy to go with his quads.

I wanted to correct myself, when double-checking I found Chaplin was not a quadruple nominee for The Great Dictator, he missed out  on a Best director nomination to be perfect.

Citizen Kane was, of course, by far the most influential, but 'Reds' is one of my ten all-time favorite films and Kane is not, so 'Reds.'

I need to re-watch Reds, the other two I have seen at least a dozen times each. Reds, I only saw it once at least 25 years ago, it doesn't seen to show up that often on TV oddly.

Bradley Cooper's (directing, screenplay, producing, acting) A Star Is Born (2018) is a possible 2019 Oscar "Big Four" Quadruple Nominee. It secured four of the "Big Five" nominations from the Golden Globes, USA. Writing represents the only category miss with no nominations among the five Golden Globe nominations in the Best Screenplay - Motion Picture category. However, since the Oscars splits the category into Original and Adapted screenplays, it bodes well for A Star Is Born's (2018) chances at the Oscars with ten total possible writing nominations dedicated to screenplay writing.

The award Season nominations seem to point to Oscar "Big Four" Quadruple nominations for A Star Is Born (2018). The various acting, writing and directing branches of the AMPAS are responsible for the Oscar nominations. Their membership is mirrored in various respective guilds, All (SAG, WGA, DGA and PGA) the guilds have nominated A Star Is Born (2018) for the Big Five Oscar categories. So, in advance of the 2019 Oscar nomination announcement on January 22nd this bodes well for A Star Is Born (2018)

Both  Roma (2018) [Best Actor] and A Star Is Born (2018) [Best Director] barely missed a "Big Four" Quadruple nomination sweep by only securing three of the four required nominations. However, Alfonso Cuarón pulls out a weird foursome by garnering producing, directing, screenplay and cinematography, nonetheless

Only Chloé Zhao came close with three "Big Five" nominations and a fourth for editing among the 2021 Oscar nominees to securing a Oscar "Big Five" Quadruple in 2021.
