@mariojacobs, an alternative take on the topic. If you plan on keeping your version, you might want to proofread it again, as there are several issues. (ie. "countless" and "numerous" should be quantified, "age of 12", should be "age of 10", 1973 is listed twice, "impressively" should be "impressive", "also working" should be "working", "Sammo Hung's" should be "Sammo Hung's", etc.)

FYC,

Bolo Yeung and Sammo Hung are both imposing figures in the Hong Kong martial arts and action film industry. Interestingly, both share defining deep lifelong friendships with two of martial arts' biggest stars, Yeung with Bruce Lee and Hung with Jackie Chan.

Bolo Yeung got his first big break in the movie, Enter the Dragon (1973), where his signature muscular physique and honed martial skills made him an impressive adversary for the lead, Bruce Lee. To date, he has appeared in over one hundred martial arts films and has faced off against some of the biggest stars in the martial arts genre over the past fifty years.

Sammo Hung's first notable film was Big and Little Wong Tin Bar (1962), which was his and Jackie Chan's feature film debut. To date, he has appeared in over two hundred martial arts films and TV series. His trademark heavy muscular build has faced off against some of the biggest stars in the martial arts genre over some fifty years. He has been widely credited in his role as a fight choregrapher, director and producer for giving many their starts in the industry.

Which of these legends of the Hong Kong martial arts industry is your favorite fighting actor of the two?

@urbanemovies ok, but I had to keep the van Damme part, since the name is very strong.

>"countless" and "numerous" should be quantified

I don't understand. Examples, please.

I think it is okay to use those words when the situation calls for it. If you are truly talking about something that can't definitively measured, like the number of galaxies in the universe for "countless", or something that no one knows for sure like, the number of women Donald Trump has "kissed, groped or more without asking explicit permission" for "numerous".

This is what those two words actually mean:

But, you are not using them correctly, when both of these numbers are known facts. Also, using terms like these are "red flags" to readers that make them question everything else you are stating. By using these terms, it says that you can't get simple details right. You are willing to exaggerate the facts by saying someone has more credits than are countable. Plus, that you are simply are not knowledgeable on the topic. Therefore, it makes everything else that is being said suspect to readers.
Since then,  Bolo Yeung has appeared in countless martial arts movies... (Sammo Hung) ...has worked in numerous martial arts films as an actor, director, producer and choreographer, ...

(According to the theory of celebrity interaction, unsolicited groping only counts as assault if the full-grown target won't forgive the offense. Whereas the law only sees it differently until the "victim" declines to testify. A wise individual wouldn't test either of these, and a non-pervert wouldn't want to such. So, it might not really be fair to claim that Donald Trump, Senior, assaulted countless women. I mean, any given man of sufficient age could've assaulted countless women.)

I amended the statement to be fairer and less debatable to "kissed, groped or more without asking explicit permission". I don't think anyone could have an issue with the statement, especially since he has repeatedly acknowledged it to be true.

(Okay, that is a wonderful course of action. Fair enough. Just to note, when the recording of part of the conversation between Donald Trump and Billy Bush [in the presence of Melania Trump] was originally leaked to the public, I didn't believe that Trump [a notorious bullshitter] was being truthful in his statements to Bush, but lately I've considered the remarks to be a viable indicator of a pattern of behavior, colloquial as the remarks may be. Like how the hell does one "grab" something like that, through clothing? [Well, some women may "go commando" with a skirt.] Ordinarily the vulgar colloquialism "pussy" is refers to the birth canal, but I can see how folks might just as well be using it to refer to the labia or the clitoris.)

I think this can be a figure of speech called hyperbole.

@mariojacobs

My mistake, in the Bolo paragraph, "honed martial skills" should be "honed fighting skills". Please, correct.
