what are you doing to me here...'petrocelli', 'judd for the defense', 'law and order:criminal intent', 'boston legal', 'night court'...i'm expected to pick one out of this great list...possibly impossible...

but...since i'm here...i would probably have to vote for 'night court' or 'law and order:criminal intent'...or 'petrocelli'...no...then again...

i'm gonna have to think about this one...all too good...great poll...

I'm also a big "L.A. Law" fan.  You do know that Larry Drake, who played Lenny on the show, passed away last year, don't you?

Drop Dead Diva ran for 6 seasons. Maybe you could put it in and remove one of the options that only ran one or two years? How about Conviction? It hasn't been formally cancelled, but it didn't get an additional episodes pick-up and most of the actors have moved on to other projects.

Sad that Shark wasn't on the list. That was my favorite.

The good wife

Law and order

And

Perry Mason

In that order.

You have two that don't belong on the list because they are really cop shows that seldom went into the court room on a regular basis. They are "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" . Only the orginnal "Law and Order" series of that franchise went into the court room every single episode. It is too late now, but I would have suggested "J.A.G." as a replacement for one of those two.
CORRECTION: Only the orginnal "Law and Order", "Law and Order: UK", "Law and Order: Trial By Jury", and "Law And Order: LA" went into the court room every single episode. "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" did not. They are really cop shows focusing on the police investigations.

funny you should say that about 'criminal intent'...that's my favorite of the various law and order shows and it was a toss-up for me between that and 'night court', but i eventually picked 'night court' for the exact same reason you think 'criminal intent' should have been eliminated...'night court' was almost entirely in the courtroom...

there was, however, a law and order show called 'trial by jury' which didn't last long after the passing of jerry orbach, but it did focus alot on the courtroom and courtroom procedures...

and yes...'jag' should have been up there as well...

good calls...

Impossible to choose just One because eventhough the generaal theme may be the courtroom, the genre and country of origin is way to varied. As a legal profeessional I'm gonna have to say that is's an overal nice list of legal based tv shows but because of (legislatieve) context and genre I'm simply not capable to select just one.
None the less for as far as I can tell (don't know and havan't seen al titles) you've made a pretty nice list mostly because of an overall high production valse and second the majority of these titles do a pretty good job of giving the audience a Nice balanced mix of reality and fiction. Mostley I ready greatfull U die NOT include Ally McBeal. Nice show for a while but if that was representative of any legal system anywhere in the world then Mcgyver might as well ran for president in the 90's. For a more international twist I recomend Janet King(Aus), De Ridder(BE). Cheers

Loved loved loved "Night Court", but still had to vote for Boston Legal.

Yeah, I liked Harry Stone and his zany courtroom antics, too.  But I didn't actually watch "Boston Legal", so I can't really comment on it.  Sorry.

Since Ally McBeal is not on the list, The Good Wife it is.

Hello, Camila.  This is Ryan L. Williams of Taylor Mill, KY., but you may just refer to me as "Digger".  Anyways, I just wanted to says, in regards to your recent statement on here, that while I'm a big Julianna Margulies fan, I'm afraid that I didn't get into her series "The Good Wife", and I have no explanation or excuse for why I didn't, other than I've just lost interest in watching new T.V. shows.  I've simply gotten hooked on the internet and streaming on sites like "YouTube" and "Twitter" and things of that nature.  And as far as "Ally McBeal" goes back then, before the internet even existed, I just couldn't bring myself to watch that either it was such a weird show, and I just didn't go for shows like that, and I still can't.  So Camila, I hope that you won't hold the negative views I've given to both shows, which I know are your favorites, against me, because I would really like for us to be bosom buddies here, you dig?

Too bad, you missed out on one of the best shows ever produced on T.V.. yeah, I know you weren't talking to me but I still saw your comment. Sorry.

+dgranger: That's alright, Mr. Granger, sir.  There's no need to apologize.  I appreciate you replying to my post.  As a matter of fact, I want to say to anyone else who may be reading this right now, that if they too want to respond to what I written to Camila, please go right ahead and comment on my statement.  I welcome any input you all can give me, so long as it's only constructive and informative, if you all get my drift?
