Live Poll - Commemorating Freedom

Juneteenth, observed on June 19th, commemorates a pivotal moment in U.S. history: the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. This day symbolizes the long and arduous journey from bondage to liberty, a struggle marked by incredible resilience, courage, and the ongoing pursuit of true freedom. Which of these films, depicting the era of slavery, the fight for freedom, or its immediate complex aftermath, do you believe most powerfully portrays the journey to emancipation and its profound significance? Kirk, you mention that the titles deal either with slavery or its "immediate complex aftermath", however several titles, while dealing with racial issues, take place in the 20th Century, which can't be considered the "immediate" aftermath of abolition. Also, you are including miniseries (Roots, The Underground Railroad), so either you can delete them, or you can change the description of your list to say "titles" instead of "films", that way you can expand the scope to include television if you'd like to.
