Live Poll: Best Mid-Season Replacement Drama TV Series

A mid-season replacement TV series is a show that takes the place of another cancelled show due to poor ratings or some other reason between December and May. These shows are often second stringers that didn't make the fall line-up. Networks are hopeful they will catch on, but often their role is to hold on until the roll-out of the new fall line-up. Every once in a while, networks catch lightning in a bottle and these fill-ins become wildly successful, anchoring the network's lineup for years and spawning multiple spin-offs.

In your question, "it's roll" should be "its role".

The Unit is the best show, bar none.  A criminally underappreciated show.

I have love for Parenthood and Quantum Leap.

While it had poignant moments The Wonder Years was a comedy. Every award it was ever nominated for or won where comedy and drama was delineated it was put in the comedy category.

I moved into the comedy category, I still thinks it fits both, but I agree its fit comedy more.

I feel the same that the truly great shows are never fully appreciated, plus also a fan of David Mamet's work.

'Great poll (and very good intro, too)! My vote: The Practice, but Hill Street Blues was so good and so influential, and the first five seasons, approximately, of Grey's Anatomy were wonderful. I had no idea that this list would be so good; 'so full of good shows.
