That's a bit ahead of schedule, but considering that I've made a 2019 poll like this I'm very much digging it. 2020 certainly has much more movies set in it then 2019, which is a bit odd, to be honest.

I think they both are about equal, 2019 was more far reaching than 2020, as most of the 2020 movies only jump a decade or less into the future. I like your movie list better, there are more iconic movie in the 2019 version. As for the ahead of schedule, I don't really see any new answer options popping up, so I am taking a set and forget philosophy and will push it to the forefront of the discussion on New Years.

My first choice for movies set in a future 2019 would be Blade Runner (1982), then Akira (1988), then a toss-up for third between The Island (2005) and The Running Man (1987).

Thanks, both of those are very near future being set only 2 years (A Quiet Place 2018 | Movie Timeline: 2020 –2021) and 6 years  (Edge of Tomorrow 2014 | Movie Timeline: 2020) into the future.
