Live Face-Off Poll: John Turturro and Spike Lee or Coen Brothers

John Turturro has collaborated with filmmakers Spike Lee and Coen Brothers a combined total of 12 times over the years. Which team-up do you prefer? List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls069456468/ Poll: http://www.imdb.com/poll/xJqkDRbuUo0/

Even though he has collaborated with Spike more times, I would also go with Coen Brothers because those collaborations were more fruitful IMO.

A John Turturro poll: what a lovely idea! This is a tough choice but I'd probably go with the Coens because, despite an incredible collaboration between Turturro and Lee in Do the Right Thing, the Coen/Turturro films have probably been more consistently well-done. 'Good poll, good intro, good match-up.

I would suggest a third option with "Turturro and other directors". Let's not forget that one of his most acclaimed role was with Redford in Quiz Show, he was even Golden Globe nominated so since we're dedicating a poll to one of the most underrated character actors, it would be great to cover all the range of roles he had to play: - Spike lee - Coen Brothers - Others

Even though it's one of his most acclaimed roles, I can't think of any other role that makes me want to add that third option. He has worked in the movies written and directed by himself, as you would know. But, even those roles are not acclaimed as much his roles from 'Barton Fink', 'Miller's Crossing' or 'Do the Right thing's apart from 'Quiz Show'. Besides, there has been a similar pole about Bill Murray who is also known for roles other than the ones from Wes Anderson's or Harold Ramis'. (Like his Oscar-nominated role from 'Lost in Translation'.)

I don't think it's comparable with Bill Murray but if I suggested the Murray poll, I would have included an "other" option anyway. My point was that Turturro's most popular roles were with the Coen brothers and Spike Lee, there's no doubt about that. Fine. So I'm not asking you this because the 'other' option would cover a lot of acclaimed roles (you're right, there aren't many, unfortunately since he's a great actor) but precisely because there are not many roles and it won't affect the results, it's just a little breach to open, just to show that we've considered the fact that Turturro isn't just Coen and Lee, it's just a mark of consideration toward his body of work. it won't change the results but we've got to take into consideration that some voters might appreciate roles that aren't from the Coens or Lee, even as a minority, they deserve to have an option. Especially since there aren't many Turturro polls in the first place, so it's just a way to pay tribute to the three different categories of films he played in: Coen/ Lee/ Others. That's all.

Well, this felt more satisfactory explanation than the previous one.  ---"it's just a little breach to open, just to show that we've considered the fact that Turturro isn't just Coen and Lee,"--- I'm considering the third option because of this. But, here's the other poll that I was talking about. I'm not sure how it's not comparable seeing the face-off is about which collaboration feels more fruitful between the directors with whom he had most of the collaborations. - http://www.imdb.com/poll/izOhENJZn4E/
