To a Land Unknown (2024): 5/10. Think of an immigrant story, but in the vein Of Mice and Men, where both main characters are Lennie Small (but not in a good, endearing way). Superman (2025): 8/10. Ballerina (2025): 7/10. Cloud (2024): 8/10. This coming Sunday: a rerelease of Hundreds of Beavers (2022) - never seen before.

Entire paranormal activity series - first one was decent but the rest are totally garbage

Amélie (2001) - On a whim, I saw it on a Monday and took the day off due to a doctor's appointment: 9/10 (dropped from 10/10 rating). Sink Your Teeth: A Tokyo Ghoul Celebration: Worst anime experience at a movie theater. Poorly chopped up speed run through the first season. 3/10. Folktales (documentary 2025): 9/10. Summer Wars (2009) 4k release: rewatch still at 10/10. The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) - IMAX: 8/10. Together (2025): 9/10. The Bad Guys 2 (2025) - 3D: 8/10. Souleymane's Story (2024): 5/10. The Naked Gun (2025): 7/10. Tonight: Boys Go to Jupiter (2024): 8/10. Tomorrow: Weapons (2025) Sunday: Hola Frida (2024) - rewatch though I'm not sure if it will be the English dub or the original Spanish cast.

Hola Frida (2024): English dub - 9/10 whereas the original version I saw earlier this year was a 10/10. Weapons (2025): 9/10 Timecop (1994): 2/10 for the movie; 10/10 for the "live" Rifftrax commentary and short It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley (documentary 2025): 7/10 The Boy and the Beast (2015) 4k restoration: 10/10 rewatch Good Boy (2025): 9/10

The Glassworker(2024): A Studio Ghibli film if you bought it on Temu. I could be more forgiving of the terrible animation and tepid character design, but the dialogue, story, and side characters were really bad. Rating it a 4/10. Sadly, it met my expectations as I wasn't hopeful after seeing the trailer. One of the first times, I spotted the atrocious animation walking cycle. And though the score was quite lovely, it was obvious they cribbed it all from the Joe Hisaishi playbook. Almost as if they prompted an AI chatbot to just give them a Joe Hisaishi score.

Believe it or not "I'm Still Here" last year's winner of Oscar for best Foreign Film. It was fantastic.

Not a good weekend for movies. The Woman in Cabin 10 (2025) - 4/10 Summer Camp (2024) - 4/10 (Diane Keaton last film)

'Hundrets of Beavers' (2022) - 10/10 I laughed my *ss off! ;D

A Quiet Place Part 2 (2020) - 8/10 Pit and the Pendulum (1961) - 7/10 Sherlock Jr. (1924) - 9/10

The Smashing Machine (2025) - 6/10, I was expecting better. T-Men (1947) - 5/10, it didn't help my DVD had no subtitles so I missed some details. Caramelo (2025) - 4/10, just another formulaic streaming movie.

'Den stygge stesøsteren' aka 'The Ugly Stepsister': https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29344903/ That's a very bad non-rated turn-around alternative Cinderella story from point of view of the competetive sister who is the stepsister in this story. Brutal, gruel, bloody and mean. In deed one of the meanest films I saw in last times. It's a Norwegian, Polish and Swedish co-production that is unique in re-telling an old tale in an alternate version. For the idea and the execution I give it a 7/10. Beware: Don't watch if you can't cope with violent scenes. The cover tells you something. If you know the story ... I coped with it, but it was very harsh!
