Secondly, I don’t believe films and even the actual criminals themselves, who were small time hoods who ran around with a gang or ‘Crew’ traveling from place to place pulling small one time jobs, like bank robberies, (“White Heat” and “Bonnie and Clyde”) should even be put into the same category with films, or history too, of much larger and more organized criminal organizations (Mania, drug cartels, street gangs) that stayed in one place and ran long time running crimes like dealing drugs, and such, like “The Godfather” and “Scarface”. Two different types organizations - two different types of crimes and criminals. I believe that “White Heat”, “Bonnie and Clyde”, “Dillinger” fit better with films about old west criminal gangs like “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, “Young Guns”, the James Gang (Frank and Jessie James), “Night Passage”, and “The Wild Bunch”. And maybe add “Once Upon A Time in the West”.
Off your list, my favorite is “Once upon a Time in America” despite it’s obscure ending and annoying long ringing phone.
On your list: “The Public Enemy”.
