I think I will vote John Ford.

Milos Forman did a masterpiece with Amadeus, but I don't like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Michael Cimino also signed a masterpiece with The Deer Hunter, but I haven't seen anything else from him.

Not a big fan of Midnight Cowboy, but I will give John Schlesinger a second chance with Marathon Man.

Joseph L. Mankiewicz's All About Eve is one of the best written film of all time with a effective direction. I'm more mixed about Cleopatra and The Barefoot Contessa though the latter is the favorite of my grandmother.

I haven't seen anything from the other two directors.
