I have problem with true crime genre in movies, which oftentimes clashes with me being rather interested in true crime, particularly serial killers. 

That problem is the fact that many movies fall into two extremes: they're either exploitative and cheap or too pedantic in an attempt of replication to have proper artistic value. I'm in no way a staunch opposer of true crime and movies based on real events, but I'd much rather prefer movies which are loosely based on real life events, as liberty in many aspects provides them with better artistic integrity and options from the get go.
