Reminds me that despite I saw some deep cuts from Japanese cinema I'm really behind when it comes to some of the classics. The need to catch up intensifies!

So how come the Final Fantasy trilogy got missed out - Final Fantasy, Advent's Children (which proved Square Enix DIDN'T stop making movies!) and Kingsglaive? They're all EASILY better than most of the movies listed here!!

Other than much of the language and the actors? Why do you think Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) is a Japanese movie?

All four of the production companies are American, as well as the three special effects studios.

For the same reason that artificial intelligence can solve several advanced mathematical problems in an instant but fumbles with language, programs like Grammerly are rife with problems because of how complex and nuanced language is, however this example is also about style, how a language is used by native speakers, and how awkard or not something sounds more than strict grammar rules. Because "which" is singular, though, the votes and rating should probably agree with the singular. I wouldn't worry too much about it, though: it's nothing close to a big, obvious, or egregious error. I'm just so used to suggesting edits (I'm an English instructor) that sometimes I get carried away and do it habitually. I actually annoy myself sometimes, lol.

Another one with too many all-time favorites to pick just one!  Ponyo, Spirited Away, Nausicaa, Grave Of The Fireflies, Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Kiki's Delivery Service, Kimi No Na Wa, Castle In The Sky are some of the greatest movies of all time, in my opinion
