Batman is one of the most well-known characters in the world and is recognized worldwide thanks to his wide portrayal in comics, TV shows, cartoons, movies, and other media that have cemented The Dark Knight's status as a pop culture icon. Batman Day 2026 celebrates the DC Comics character Batman, who debuted on March 30, 1939, in a story from the anthology comic book Detective Comics issue #27. The character was conceived by Bob Kane and was further developed by Bill Finger, evolving over the years into the Batman character we know and love today. This annual global celebration, Batman Day, occurs on the third Saturday in September each year, falling on Saturday, September 19th, in 2026.
