In Progress

Unnecessary (segment "producer")

Greetings,

There's a bit of a bug with how the occupation "segment producer" is presented in the Full Cast & Crew page. I reported this to the Support about a month ago, but it has not been fixed yet. So I'll try this route. (Hopefully someone reads the second sentence in a message also :p )

I've noticed that when submitting the producer Occupation "segment producer", it adds an attribute "(segment "producer")". An attribute you can not remove and which seems to be automatically generated.

The difference between the two is that "segment producer" is a title of a producer who works on a segment of a TV-show or movie, where "(segment "producer")" would indicate that the name of the segment is "producer", which is not (I'd say ever) the case.

This is surely not as intended and should be fixed. It looks funny now.

Here's a quick example page: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0626968/fullcredits/

Thank you,
Sasu

Hi Sasu -

Thanks for reporting this duplicate attribute display on episode title pages.  I have filed a ticket for our tech team to review and investigate further.  As soon as I have an update I will relay the information here.

Cheers!

@Michelle could you please see if this could be dealt with? It's been going on for over two years, and is a very frustrating problem to deal with.

I worked on a production as a segment producer

In the current entry it says segment producer (segment "producer") twice and beside each other.  I also don't get why the second one has producer in quotation marks.  I have tried to make this fix multiple times but it is hard because the system won't let me change the position since it is technically already there and everytime I explain that I JUST want it to say segment producer once without any quotation marks, it gets rejected.

Pls help if you can.

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled One of my title corrections keeps getting rejected without a proper explanation for how I can fix

@Peter_pbn Yes you are correct. This is still on the works.

@Bethanny Can someone on your team fix it while the permanent fix is in the works?  Per above, this was reported a year ago.

Hi @Murtz316 -

Unfortunately this is some sort of glitch and it can't be manually fixed. I have made the call out to the team in charge about this again.

Cheers!

I am just wondering how long this might take.  Initially reported a year ago, it is concerning to have something marked like this on my list of credits.  Would I be better served requesting it to be changed to a title that is more appropriate and not in quotation marks?

@Murtz316 I don't have an estimated time on when it will be fixed. I did call the team's attention that it has been a while now. Please leave as is for now.

Thanks!

@Bethanny This is STILL happening. It's been driving me mad for days, trying to get the credit to display properly.

I'm actually a little relieved to find out that it's not something I'm doing wrong, but please can someone give the tech team another nudge? This is VERY frustrating, especially since I make anthology movies which have up to ten segment producers!

Hi @pete_vstot -

I can confirm that this is still an open issue with the appropriate team.  Unfortunately, I can't provide a timeline as to when this will be picked up, however, I have commented on the ticket and inquired on the status to help give the issue a push.

Thanks for your patience!
