Selection of featured summaries

"Who knows?" Can you not just look at the example I posted?

"Dr. Ellie Arroway, after years of searching, finds conclusive radio proof of extraterrestrial intelligence, sending plans for a mysterious machine." That is what I see.

Was it just recently changed to that one, Dan Dassow? I should've looked at the specific example before replying to this topic.

I just looked at the main page for Contact today. I'm not certain what appear before.

I am referring to the plot summary (under "Storyline", as I said), not the plot outline at the top of the page.

And I am not suggesting that IMDb should select the shortest plot summary to be displayed on the main page, just one that is short enough to be displayed in its entirety.

Ah. My mistake. I see what you mean, Peter. The one that shows up is authored by the eponymous Huggo, and given the display algorithm, it is long enough to be cut short and terminated with an ellipsis, even though alternative short-enough summaries are available for selection as the one to be shown on the main page under the Storyline section. Well, I concur with your feature request.
