Add ability to edit episodes from series page

There really needs to be a way to edit cast & crew (and other data if needed) for multiple episodes at once from the series page the same way they are initially added to episodes.  If a mistake is made when adding from the series page, you then have to go to each and every episode to make the same correction which doesn’t make sense.  There is no easy way to backtrack.  If credits can be added to all episodes from the series page then why can’t they also be edited or deleted from there?  This is incredibly tedious and frustrating, and creates so many extra submissions as well.  I realize edits can also be made from the name pages of the cast & crew, but if there are more people than there are episodes then this would only take more time.  There should also be a way to add multiple episodes at once.  Countless posts have been made requesting both of these features.

For submission #210316-211115-909000, I added half of these to the wrong category partially b/c the guide doesn't differentiate clearly enough between some of the same occupations for Visual Effects & Animation.  Also, when submitting an animation occupation for “matte painting & texturing” it creates the following warning:

“We would usually list 'matte painting & texturing' in the 'Visual Effects' section, so this credit has been moved”, though on the Animation Department Help Guide page it says “ink/painter” should be included under Animation.

In this case, the credits are identical for each and every episode – same cast & crew for the entire animation series.  Since there are 14 episodes I had to make 14+ additional identical submissions, which took more than 14x longer to make the necessary corrections than if I could have applied the same changes to all episodes from the series page. This required at least 560 extra drop-down menu click & selects and comment boxes to fill in.  It took forever, and I could have spent that time much more productively contributing new data.

Does it make sense for your contributors to have to go thru such lengths to make an otherwise simple edit?

Here’s a good example of other episode-level data that should also be editable from the series page, which would allow a single change such as this to be done in 1 edit rather than nearly 200 edits:

Correcting a title song over multiple episodes

It would also help speed up the process and prevent carpal tunnel syndrome if a button which selected all episodes from all seasons was added to the episode selection pop-up window.  This would save an extra 5 clicks (select season + "select all") for each person added.  When you're adding the entire cast & crew this is a huge time-saver.

On a related note, if you add one person/occupation/etc. from the series page to all episodes of a TV series, it should really count as only one point towards the badge.  I ended up receiving a 1,000 Gold Filmo badge for just this one big submission b/c the single change or addition for each person was counted separately for all 14 episodes.  So the total amount of changes/additions was multiplied by 14.  However, considering that I had to go thru all of what I described above, this helps appease for the lost time and frustration :)

Here are 2 similar Ideas I found after posting this which didn’t show up in the results from my initial searches.  I suggest voting for these too:

Make it possible to contribute to multiple episodes at the same time

Add release date for multiple episodes and/or seasons

Thanks

Am I the only one that disagrees with this? How does one go about verifying that the information they are adding would apply to all episodes? There's already a lot of questionable credits, along with quite a bit of outright wrong information, on most TV episodes and I think this would add to that problem.

This would only help mitigate the problem rather than add to it.  Not currently being able to edit episodes from the series page doesn’t prevent people from being able to add the same credits to all episodes without first verifying that they should be (what you’re referring to).  It only prevents mistakes from being easily corrected.  I stated in the first paragraph that credits can be added to all episodes from the series page.  This is how it works currently.  I was able to make a lot of mistakes very quickly but then it took forever to correct those mistakes.  So, when there are errors that contributors want to fix, there is no motivation to potentially spend hours doing a task that should take only minutes if you could apply the same change to multiple/all episodes.

Correcting a title song over multiple episodes – In this link I included above, the incorrect song info was able to be added to all episodes in one quick edit, but when the contributor who posted the question wanted to make a simple correction, he was told that the only way to do it would be to make 197 separate submissions.
