more departments to better cover video games

I appreciate that IMDB is primarily a movie/tv dbase, but it does have support for, and a LOT of entries of, Video games. However whilst there is a lot of crossover job roles for departments, there are a lot of roles that just have to get lumped into 'additional crew' which seems a bit of a shame an

Set Decoration as its own category

We, as Set Decorators, and those who work with us in our (own unique) department, would like to be separate from the Art Department. The Set Decorator, as a department head, makes his or her own hiring decisions and our crew members should be grouped with us, please.

Technology Departments In Productions.

I want your thoughts on getting a 'Technology' Department added as part of a production. Currently any member of a Technology Department on a production can only be part of 'Other crew' or 'miscellaneous'. More and more productions are now including a technology department which are playing a pivota

Separate crew department categories please!

I love IMDB and use it a lot for research and as an easy verifiable way to show my own credits to perspective employers. Truly a great website for movie people that I use almost daily. I have one bone to pick and I am hoping someone from IMDB can help me to understand why this is and if perhaps ther

Script Supervisors Feel Cheated

We are NOT "miscellaneous crew", but because IMDB calls us that anyway, our "known for" sections are a complete disaster. As a script supervisor in film/tv, I have one of the most important jobs on set. Any entertainment industry professional can vouch for that. During production, it's me, the direc

Production Crew - that deserve their own Catagory - it is about time!

I am writing on behalf of the Department of the Film Industry that everyone forgets. They are the backbone of every production and, as most of these crew members are not seen, they are forgotten. Where does the call sheet come from that gets into your inbox for your next filming day? Where does t

Petition for Choreography Department Category

At the request of IMDB they will only consider any category changes with a large amount of members agreeing that it should be changed. This posting is meant to involve the community of members who think it is important to move Choreographers out of the Miscellaneous Crew category and moved into its

Production Office Category??

For the department that supports every single other department, it seems absurd that instead of having their own category, production office staff must fall under "additional crew". Production Office Coordinators, Asst Prod Office Coords, Prod Secretaries, & Prod Office PAs should all fall under a "

Production department "miscellaneous crew"???

Why is it that Production are still listed as "miscellaneous" or "other" crew on IMDb? Production are the hub of information on all films, we are the ones who send the call sheets, the schedules, who organise for everyone to be in the right place at the right time so that the films can actually take
