So to have a picture on my profile I have to pay $150/year?

I paid for IMDB for 2 years. My son is fairly busy with college right now so I cancelled the membership.  IMDB removed all of his pictures and all the credits from his page?  That doesn't seem like a reasonable thing.  Did I do something wrong?  Or do I really have to page that much per year just to maintain his page as is?

Mmarrou: On the one hand, yes, for someone to have a picture on their profile, normally they do need a paid subscription to IMDbPro which costs $149.99 per year (see https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/your-account/how-much-does-imdbpro-cost/G2Z9BDHS23B4GCKU# and https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/membership-benefits/which-imdbpro-subscription-is-right-for-me/GH39495X7KWY4PMP#).

IMDbPro is directed toward people who are active in the film and television industry, who would be motivated to want to have their picture included in IMDb.

On the other hand, a person doesn't have to pay to have their credits listed.

What is your son's page and what credits is he supposed to have there? This will help the contributors here try to figure out the situation.

Thank you, Gromit for the links.  I do see the membership features.  It says 'Add pictures to your profile's, but it doesn't say you have to keep the membership forever or have them deleted. The other casting websites don't delete the pictures if the membership lapses so this seems odd.  I can understand removing the contact info, and ability to use the jobs board, etc... But not the primary profile picture.

Regarding the credits, I apparently was looking in the wrong place since I was used to the IMDBPro app. They are still there.

Here is a screen cap of the main menu of IMDbPro section of the IMDb Help Center, with the hyperlinks encased within a red box outline:

Hi, Mmarrou. Welcome to the forum of/for the IMDb Community! Your inquiry on this matter is appreciated. Thank you. Would you be so kind as to explain here what motivated you or your son to sign up for IMDbPro in the first place? I noticed that the IMDbPro subscriber agreement doesn't mention anything about the conditions by which photographs, reels and resume info uploaded/contributed by a IMDbPro subscriber remain on the IMDb name page about him or her, so I can kind of understand how the conditions in questions might wind up possibly being unknown to an IMDbPro subscriber. Do you or your son remember anything about the IMDbPro cancellation interface signaling any kind of plea or warning about what would happen if commenced? Well, regardless, we should hope that the IMDb staff see fit to reorganize the the IMDb Help Center website's navigational scheme to make it easier for more people to understand what particular conditions are and aren't guaranteed by IMDbPro.

No, sorry, I setup his account when he was 14 and he wanted to start working.  He's 16 now.  After 2 years I don't recall the sign up.  The unsubscribe did say it would remove the customizations of the page, but it didn't register that it would remove the profile pic.

Oh well, I'm still going to keep it cancelled as I can direct people to the other casting websites or his website.

Mmarrou, as you've probably observed in IMDb Help article G44C4UXLCMW5CPEZ, there is the provision described as follows:

If your IMDb page does not have any verified filmography credits at the time of your cancellation, it will also be removed. If you choose to renew your IMDbPro Standard Subscription membership within 12 months of cancellation, the above information will be restored to your page within 24 hours.

Should you ever decide to entertain such an approach, within the specified limitation of timing, then please post here on this public forum the URL to the IMDb name page about your son.

Thankfully his credits are still there and the page still exists. He is missing a credit for a recent movie but I've contacted the director. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm10313049/

@Mmarrou Is that film listed on IMDb with its title page?

If the film is already listed, you can submit your son's credit to its page.

If the film is not listed, someone will have to submit it to the database using the New Titles form (https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/edit?update=title).

@gromit82 It is listed.  I see the little pencil now and have submitted the request.  Thank you, Gromit!
