Registration without credit card?

I do not own a credit card - in Germany, this is not unusual.

At AMAZON (PRIME MEMBER!) I pay via bank account or paypal and thats' fine for all.

I sign in via AMAZON so IMDb has already all my payment data.

So why do IMDb need a credit card for creating an account whilst knowing my AMAZON-account?

And whats about people without credit card?

Visa
MasterCard / Eurocard
Discover Network
American Express
Diner's Club International (U.S. billing addresses only)
JCB
NYCE
STAR
China UnionPay (Credit Card Only)
Visa or MasterCard debit cards

OK, as far as I can see, those are ALL credit cards.

Am I allowed to say: that this circumstance is really strange and not costumer-friendly!

Even the smalles business is working with payPal today, so where's the problem - IMDb seems to be part of AMAZON and AMAZON accepts much more payment possibilities...

It should be thought about accepting at least AMAZON-PAY as well to open your service to even more costumers worldwide...

A lot of people would be thankful for this service, I guess....

I got the same problem here.. Is there a solution already or do I really need to get a credit card to create an IMDbPro account? I just checked, it turns out I can't even apply for a credit card on my account.... Are there no other ways to check my identity?

Okay, then I'm afraid I can't create an IMDbPro account.... Indeed not very customer-friendly and besides, you just miss out on money from people who don't have a credit card😅 Paypal would indeed be a good solution. At least this can be created by anyone, unlike a credit card. I hope something is done with this feedback!

Also, do I necessarily need a credit card if I just want an IMDbPro Free account? I just want to claim my page, but for that they want to check my identity...

@lottetimmermans Just to add further to @Sally's reply above and to gather some extra data for the payments team. We will look at other payment options, and there's now a ticket open for this with the reference #P83642204, but Sally's reply above included:

Visa or MasterCard debit cards

so just to confirm that you do not have a debit card attached to an account which you can use?
