Profile picture/headshot for Dead Royal Princess

Hello.
I know that
"An active premium IMDbPro subscription is required to add headshots directly to an IMDb name page",
I am however wondering if IMDb can make exceptions for dead royal persons?

Obviously a dead person can not have a IMDbPro subscription,
also Royal families are not workers in the entertainment industry and does not have agents or others to upload pictures for them.

So I was wondering if IMDb could update a profile picture for:
"Her Highness Princess Astrid"
her IMDb page:
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8989864/

There is a picture of here here which is free to use:

on page 5

page says:
"Photos for editorial use
Hand out photos released for editorial use. Please credit the photographer and The Royal Court. They are available for editorial use only – not for sale, marketing nor advertising campaigns."

Hi @Kristin,

At this time, adding a photo to a name page without a premium membership is not possible. Thank you for understanding.

@Martymccflyy

Please in the future, do not thank people in ADVANCE for their understanding.

Nobody can place feelings on other people,

and I indeed have no "understanding" in this case.

Hi Kristin-

Images can only be added to name pages by the individual themselves or a verified representative (family/manager/etc.). If the individual is deceased, only a living family or a legal representative would be allowed to claim the page and add images. For this, an active IMDbPro membership is required and a claim on the name page in order to display photos.

You are welcome to vote and if you'll like post on this Idea thread.

Cheers!

@Maya

I was not talking about claiming the page,

nor was I asking to upload a picture myself.

I was asking the IMDb administration/editorial team to upload the mentioned picture (which they have the ability to do),

since this is an officially authorized picture of a public DEAD royal Princess.

I am also quite disappointed in getting such a standard answer that does not fit the case or what I wrote at all.

For IMDb to even suggest that the KING of Norway (or any other relative of a dead person)

would have to pay a yearly fee of  $149.99 for ETERNITY to have ONE profile picture of a dead Princess on IMDb is quite rude and insensitive I feel.

If IMDb had answered that IMDb chooses not to do so, that would be an honest answer at least.

But that both  representatives for IMDb just lie and give an generic copy paste answer that is really not suitable for the details in this case is verry disappointing to contributors/relatives and users of IMDb  :-(

Hi @Kristin -

I appreciate you explaining this further, and I understand your frustration that the previous responses didn't really address what you were asking.

You're right, your question was specifically whether our editorial team can add an image on behalf of a deceased public figure, and that deserves a straight answer.

Right now we don't have a process in place for our editorial team to add images to name pages on behalf of third parties - even in cases like this where the person is deceased and the image is publicly authorized. I get that this feels like it should be a simple exception, especially for someone like Princess Astrid, and that's fair feedback.

This is a known gap for us, and as Maya mentioned, we do have an Idea thread where the community is voting and commenting on expanding how images can be added to name pages. If you're able to add your voice there it genuinely helps as we look at how to prioritize this.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you right now - and thank you for being such a dedicated contributor. I will pass along your comments from this thread to the appropriate team, this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us identify where we need to improve.

@Michelle

Thank you for taking the time to give me a "non-copy paste general answer",

I see the linked thread is 8 years old,

so I also really appreciate you taking the time to pass the issue/example allong :-)
