Legacy Option on IMDbPro
Hi, I am an IMDbPro Member for my work as a writer, producer, and musical artist. It is my understanding that the images and credits uploaded to the page will disappear if my IMDbPro membership is discontinued. There should be an option to leave a legacy (one-time fee) to have the selected photos and credits stay up permanently if the membership is discontinued or the user dies. Many platforms in different industries have this option. A common criticism I hear about IMDbPro is; it is just a paid place to put headshots and credits but if you miss a payment it all disappears and it's all for nothing. I would disagree that all IMDbPro is for is headshots but paying a membership for a long time with only one payment missed or you die then your legacy and life's work will just be put together and organized by who exactly? I love IMDBPro and following creators and movies but it might not be worth it to stay subscribed unless there is more long-term creative control of page content and access to features. This one-time legacy option would entice people to subscribe and stay subscribed, for the other features as well, especially if they knew they had lasting control of their creative footprint.

Only the IMDbPro-related images (along with demo reels and resume data) disappear when the subscription ends. The credits remain. There is also a legacy class of images that do or could appear on IMDb name pages in the absence of IMDbPro, and the policy concerning them is that whichever one of those images happens to appear in the primary image slot is not to be altered unless the situation is a clear cut case of the person's face not being visible in the thumbnail. As of this time, I'm not going to explain how those images are able to show up on IMDb name pages, except to note that there is more than one way, and that sometimes an image (even an undesirable one) can accidentally be put into place, which is all the more reason to maintain an active IMDbPro subscription, so as to override such a function.

Another idea-type thread proposing a similar feature is https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbprocom/cost-too-high-for-imdb-pro/5f4a7ac78815453dbabac986. There are (or were) more proposal threads like this, but I cannot seem find them. One of the ideas proposed was to have a lower-priced service plan that only allows the person claiming an IMDb name page to customize the primary image, not providing access to any other IMDbPro features or perks.
