IMDbPro “Jobs & Casting” Feature Update

By December 30, 2025, IMDbPro will discontinue hosting casting notices and job postings including those that are posted by IMDbPro members and sourced from valued industry collaborators, NYCastings and Casting Calls America. These were previously available to IMDbPro Premium members in the Jobs section (https://pro.imdb.com/jobs/). Going forward, you will be able to find and apply to notices from these services at https://www.nycastings.com/directsubmit/ and https://castingcallsamerica.com/.
This decision is based on careful consideration and analysis of our members' needs. We remain focused on empowering our members to advance their entertainment careers.
All other IMDbPro Premium membership benefits remain unchanged, including IMDb name page customization features, access to industry contacts and in-development project details, and powerful discovery tools.
We remain committed to helping you succeed in the entertainment industry with innovative features that bring together talent and decision-makers, including our Connections tab for managing and viewing your professional network. Learn more about Connections.

I believe removing the casting/job notices section was a mistake.
When you state that, “This decision is based on careful consideration and analysis”, I am curious to know what analysis was truly done. Of the 25 or more years that I’ve been with SAG, the 10 or more years I’ve subscribed to IMDB, or the three or so years since I first discovered IMDB Pro even had a jobs & casting notice section, I had never received a single email that promoted the jobs & casting page. Nor had I seen a poll on the site requesting member feedback as to how beneficial IMDB Pro members may have thought this section to be, and what features could have been improved.
I for one was looking forward to the day I could use IMDB Pro / Casting Direct to post jobs for my film project once it was green-lit. For most other IMDB Pro members, I would venture to say many union affiliated members may have had yet to discover its existence. I myself stumbled upon it randomly and was pleasantly surprised.
If anything, IMDB Pro / Casting Direct should have promoted the Jobs & Casting section more. At best, it could have sent out an email instead of yanking the section from existence in the quiet of night with only this posting inside of a chat forum to remember it by. In some ways it feels like I just read an obituary…... “Farewell Casting Direct”.
Lastly, instead of bolstering the presence of the Jobs & Casting page with third party casting sites, many of which catered to non-union actors, it would have behooved IMDB to enhance its IMDB Pro / Direct casting service by linking up with iActor.com, the official casting site for union actor's with the Screen Actors Guild.
Not only would it guarantee a higher caliber of actor and crew response to production postings, but it would fill a much needed void. The last I heard the statistic on this topic, only 2% of all union actors are ever working at any given time. It was my hope that IMDB Pro / Casting Direct was doing its part to improve that disparity.
