How to have IMDb Pro open from a safari link

Hi Jon,

I’m using an iPhone and iPad. I’m not having any issues logging in thankfully. I’m just hoping to be able to have the IMDB Pro app open when clicking an IMDb Pro link from Safari or the Mail App.

The normal IMDB app opens when clicking a link from Safari, but not with IMDB Pro. 

here are some screenshots that show both an IMDB Link, and an IMDB Pro link. With the IMDB link, there is an option when press and holding to “Open in IMDB”, but that isn’t an option for IMDB Pro.

In this case, we recommend you to uninstall the App and then re-install it. Please be advised that for the security of our members, we no longer support login functionality for certain versions of the IMDbPro App on specific device operating systems (OS). For iOS, please ensure that your device is on iOS 17.0 or above.

Your IMDbPro mobile app should also be the version 14.16 or above.

However, if you've confirmed that your device meets the criteria, please confirm and write us back with the following:

• Device model
• OS version number
• IMDbPro App version number

Your device model and software version number can be found in your phone settings, typically in "General information" and "About" sections.

Hi Jon,

I can absolutely provide that info, my OS is up to date, and I have the latest version of IMDB Pro installed on my phone. I believe that what would need to change is something within the IMDB Pro App itself, in order to support opening IMDB Pro from a Safari link, similar to the IMDB app.
