Accounts Department Crew Classification

The Accounting department is a key function of most productions and should not be classified as "Other crew" on the credits. This team is critical to the success of any show, especially the more complex and high end budget projects, which require specialised skills to ensure that the project is able to meet both it's creative and contractual obligations.

Similar to the Production team, the Accounts function is responsible for budgeting, cost tracking, reporting and in most cases they work closely with the producers and production team to manage costs and avoid overspends. The key accountant is, in my experience, one of the approval signatories on most costs, and they manage cashflow and bank account transactions in addition to ensuring statutory compliance for the project. Producers respectfully acknowledge this department in it's own category in the on-screen credit rolls, surely this should also be the case on a widely used platform such as IMDB.

Please advise how best to address this with IMDB to ensure that the Accounting team, like all important role-players on a production are represented respectfully in the IMBD credits.
