Why hasn't IMDb added more social features?

Hi everyone!
Why do you think IMDb has never integrated more advanced social features?

While we can rate titles, write reviews, and create watchlists, interaction between users is practically non-existent.
If a friend wants to see my activity, they have to search for my profile manually and can only view what I've made public.
On top of that, when someone posts a review, you can only leave a thumbs up or thumbs down there's no way to start a discussion thread under the comment.

Why not introduce sharing options, comment sections, and follower dynamics similar to Instagram?
Or perhaps a dedicated feed tab showing activity from people and entities we follow (whether that's friends, actors, directors, or production companies)?
Has IMDb ever officially addressed this?
