Title pages — new version available for sneak peek
IMDb is working on updates to the Title page. The new version of the page is mobile-responsive, meaning all features are available on devices of all sizes, and has a modern look and feel — otherwise it maintains all the functionality of the current page, though some features have moved on the page.
The new version of the page is available to a limited group of fans during a beta period. During the beta, some features are still under construction, and you may encounter bugs.
UPDATE: now available!

Check out "The White Tiger", a pretty good filming about the same titled book.
But comparing the imdb's page about the movie, you can find, that the trailer posted in the new version has nothing to do with said movie.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6571548/
Kind Regards
Timo

I can understand optimizing the site for mobile users but there is no reason to also apply this for the desktop version of the site.
The new version is not intuitive and feels like a dumbed down version.

Hello. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but here it goes:
In the old version, you simply had to mouse-over on the Plus sign (which lets you add a movie to your Watchlist) to show your recently used user-created lists. This allowed you to add a movie to any custom list instantly. Bringing up the lists now requires an extra click, which makes for a poorer experience.
Also, the Watchlist button now occupies two elements on the page - one on the cover image, and one below, on the right, next to the "Show more lists" button.
The other I issues mentioned previously in an older post hasn't been dealt with either.

Everything is much slower. My rating, the + sign to mark a film on my watchlist, the menu to add films to other lists, all of these take too much time to load.
Also, you can't select text to copy/paste in the director, writer and stars sections just below the main image, which is annoying.
uBlock Origin doesn't fix the big black gap problem for me neither.

This new page is consuming twice as much resources. Especially if you're on a older computer the loading times are 3x as long. Plus I have to do more scrolling. Terrible design. Just keep the old version or give users the option which design to use.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already (I'm not interested in looking through every post here) but the the new page format has titles in the incorrect language even though the titles were correct before.
Example:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108052/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 in the old page is entitled "Schindler's List" but in the new page is entitled "La lista de Schindler".
My account is set to English and that film is in English.
This is quite inconsistent and happens randomly according to each film. Sometimes the film titles will show up in English, Spanish or German, with no connection to the film's language.

I found, and reported via the feedback form, a place where the new page creates a mobile link:
on the Add to List pop-up, when you click the arrow to Go to a List:
So title page link
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035419/?mode=desktop&rtm=1&rtm_sr=1
sends you to this link
https://m.imdb.com/list/ls007031240/?ref_=tt_ov_wl_button_sm
(I did not include the following in the feedback form:)
But if you strip off the parameters
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035419/
you get the right result:
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls007031240/?ref_=tt_ov_wl_button_sm
I think the strategy of _adding_ a parameter to correct the situation, namely
adding mode=desktop
to correct the effects of rtm=1 and/or rtm_sr=1
was not a good approach.
I recall reporting (along with others) that
?rtm=1&rtm_sr=1
gave some sort of bad result (perhaps also the mobile link), then
mode=desktop was added.
But it seems the code that REACTS to those parameters is still around.
I don't know what other value they have, but the page seems to work better without them.

On the upcoming redesign, there's this new modal for placing a star rating on titles. When I hover over the stars, the stars light up, but there's no quick way to tell which star I'm hovering over without counting them. It would be nice if the "?" at the top changed while hovering and not after clicking a star. Better for accessibility too, I imagine.

Hello IMDb,
Love your website - use it all the time.
Would prefer to see the Cast List structured in the old way .. actor names down one side, character names down the other side. That way I can scan the list more easily either looking for a known actor or a known character. The new page makes scanning for either an actor or a character a more difficult task. Thanks

Hello IMDb
Love your website. Use it all the time.
On the new Title page I would prefer to see the old Cast List layout where the actors name appear down one column and the characters down an adjacent column. This makes it easy to scan for either a known actor or a known character. The new layout is not as user friendly. Thanks.

like the new layout. the Add To Watchlist combo is clear. Ratings easier to view/get to. The Advert Banner uses too much prime real estate.. first half of browser window before i get to the movie, initially i thought the star ratings applied to the Ad content. 11 past the hour :-)

Hello IMDB!
Your website (aside from the front page) was quite perfect the way it was. All the information, nicely ordered, very clean and transparent, easy to find all the stuff.
Please, please dont ruin it now with this new desing. The pictures take up a whole lot of space, the font sizes are way too big, and are all over the place. The cast list part is really difficult to scan through.
The whole thing is really not user friendly, plus its ugly.
If something is working perfectly, don't touch it please.
