Ratings: Share my ratings sorted by my rating

When looking at my own ratings I can sort them by what I rated, but when sharing my ratings to friends they can't sort on what I rated, so when I create a permalink to my ratings sorted by my rating it says temporarily unavailable to other people.

Hi MaloW -

I wasn't able to replicate this error. Can you try sharing your ratings again and see if they can now be sorted?

http://www.imdb.com/user/ur16522416/r...
these are my ratings

when Im logged in I get the following sorting options:

Recently rated
Your rating
Title A-Z
US release date
# ratings
IMDb rating
MOVIEMeter

when Im not logged in I get the following sorting options:

Recently rated
Title A-Z
US release date
# ratings
IMDb rating
MOVIEMeter

As you can see when Im not logged in "Your rating" isnt available to sort after (obiously it shouldn't be called "Your rating", but maybe rather "Voters rating" or something, regardless it can't be sorted by).

So when Im logged in and I sort after my rating on the movies, and create a permalink to my ratings sorted by my rating I get this URL:
http://www.imdb.com/user/ur16522416/r...
Which works fine to go to if Im logged in, but if I log out, going to the URL results in the following message;
"The list you're looking for is unavailable. It may be a temporary problem. Try reloading this page."

The above problem occurs when a non-logged-in person tries to open a user's public ratings, sorted by the user's own ratings. A link such as this one:

http://www.imdb.com/user/ur39885079/r...

I got this link by viewing my own ratings and sorting them by (my) rating.

Since non-logged-in people can view my ratings sorted by several other metrics, it seems only reasonable that they should be able to view them sorted by (my) rating too.

Absolutely ridiculous that this isn't an option.

2016... That is a very useful feature, but it seems nobody really wants to do something about it. Well, I'll keep waiting..

May 2016 and just discovered that this feature is missing - I think it is a very desirable feature and given that it is possible to view a users films ratings, it seems weird to be unable to sort by the ratings they have given them.

Please add - I was hoping to share my list with a friend and for her to be able to see easily which were my favourite films.

I just tried to share my list ordered by Default Sort Order ->"Your rating". When I share the link to a friend imdb.com erases all the query options like "sort".

http://www.imdb.com/list/ls067599527/?start=1&view=detail&sort=your_ratings:desc&default...
Here is the list and Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex should be 1st and Death Note 2nd, but friend gets Cowboy beebop, then Fate/Zero etc.

Please fix/enhance it, otherwise it is meaningless to share.

Thank you.

How do I share a public list showing and sorted by my personal rating?

Still no fix for this?

List sharing makes little sense otherwise.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled How do I share a public list sorted and showing my personal rating?.

I would like to share my personal ranked lists in public (with users that are not logged in).

How do I share a public list sorted and showing my personal rating?

Thanks.

It's 2019 and there is no solution? What's the point of sharing your ratings list when your ratings do not show and the list is not sorted by your ratings? Come on, IMDB, you can do better than this.

I think it works now. I don't know when it's been fixed though

No, it does not work. If I open the URL of my ratings list from an anonymous web browser session, there is no way to see the ratings.

Same problem here !
I i try to share my ratings with option of sort by name it wont work.
The only thing which public peolple can sort is by stars (0-10) or most recent and top rated.
When i try to share my ratings for one of my created lists my ratings are not visible for other people !

Thats not good please IMDB fix this so that i can share my lists with sorting options by name, date, rating ... and for all my lists are the same please AND of course the ratings so that other can see how i rated an movie on my own list.

2024 and IMDb still doesn't have the most basic feature that's also one of the most practical things for a movie website: seeing someone's top rated movies.

Hi @TrumanChipotle -

When you share your ratings or someone else’s ratings are shared with you, you can view that person's top rated titles by  selecting "Top Rated" from the 'Sort by' menu selection, you can also filter the list by genre, title type, ratings, keywords, etc.

I hope this helps!

@Michelle The "top rated" option is not visible. Just tried to send a link for a public list.

@michael_frost_jensen This is available for your ratings, as per the idea text from the original customer.  The “Top rated” order is only available for your ratings list at the present time, sorry.

Unfortunately we have a growing backlog of issues at the moment due to capacity constraints, so your best option would be to start a new Idea thread to suggest adding the same sort to all lists. This way other customers can vote and comment upon it.  The more votes the idea receives, the better.

Hope this helps.
