Ratings: Allow more precise voting
Me and my friends recently use IMDB a lot to rate. But we think it would be great if you were allowed to rate More precisely. Because you can find an episode great but is it worth a 10? is it that good? but when you give a 9 you are like mhh this is better. I'ts just that the difference between two numbers can be very big.
So me and my friends would like to suggest if it is possible to give ratings like 9.4 , 4.5 , 8.6, ...
Thanks for reading.

I wish I could vote with decimals in the movies, at times I think I want to give you a 6 to a movie but closer to 7 such as 6.8. IMDB should change this

Hello guys!
So here's the thing.. You've probably heard this before but I felt like I just had to say it.. again.. YOU GUYS (IMDb) MUST CHANGE THE RATING SYSTEM TO A MORE DETAILED ONE WITH COMMA! I mean it's just so difficult to explain to people that I haven't rated some movies the same, you have to find the differences in ratings between movies, and you can't do that with the current rating system. So I am eagerly trying to figure out a way to differentiate the ratings of my viewed movies, but it's just impossible. I therefore encourage you guys to change the rating system. Please. On behalf of every other IMDB member, change it. Please. Thank you. Kind regards.

TO IMDB TEAM: Please consider adding ".5" options to your rating system. For example, giving the users the ability to rate a movie 7.5 rather than just 7 or 8. I believe it will help overall movie rating be more accurate and for those of us who take pleasure in rating these movies seriously and critically, it will allow us to more accurately differentiate one movie from another. Thanks for you consideration!!

As it has always been, IMDb only let us register our rates with integer numbers (5, 6, 7, 8, etc). Well, most films I watch are already rated from 6 to 8 and I usually rate them from 4 thru 10. Most frequently with 6, 7 or 8. You see? One could say that I have only 3 possible rates to express my feeling about a movie. That's far from enough! e.g.: Too often I find that a film is better 6 but don't really deserves a 7. That also makes difference when one is browsing some user's Ratings List, searching for good stuff to watch. I thing I should be able to rate, let's say, [6.7], [6.4], [7.3]...
Thanks for reading.

I Think That The User Should Be Able To Gove Ratings In Terms Of Points Like The Official Ratings Of The IMDb. As In '6.6' or '8.9' or Something Like This Instead Of Just '8.0' or '6.0' . It Would Better Because We Would Be Able To Give Exactly The Type Of Rating That We Wanna Give To Any Title.

Sometimes I would like to rate a movie with .5’s. 5.5, 6.5, 7.5 etc. like I just watched the Italian job and it’s better than a seven but not quite an 8.
Anyone else feel the same??

And yeah I agree that Imdb needs to introduce a new rating system in "0.5 "
But I understand that is possibly complicated to Imdb introduce that.

What do people think of the idea of scaling the ratings to utilise the full 1 to 10 spectrum? Whether it's because people are nice, or because you are more likely to bother to rate a film that you like, almost all ratings are over 5.0. Even the 100th worst rated movie in the entire database has a 4.1. Exams are scaled so the average score is 50%, which makes the result more meaningful. Or course TV would have to be scaled separately because TV shows are even more highly rated than movies. IMDb is such a valuable data source, because there is nowhere else in the world where so many people contribute to rate the quality of a film. This data would be more valuable if it was weighted correctly so the average rating is 5.0.

I am constantly stuck with how to rate a movie that is too good for an 8 but isn’t good enough for a 9. Please help me out.

I would like to see the rating system refined to tenths of a point for the rater since the total rating for the movies are averaged to the tenth of a point.

When we choose our ratings, we're basing them on a 10-point system overall.
I would prefer a 10-point system for default reviews with an optional 100-point system when rating TV episodes for shows (6.9, 7.1, etc.) or for users with a more-defined review style.
I see my 6 & 7's for TV episodes match up with my 6 & 7 film ratings, and personally I'm basing these ratings on different factors. TV Rating 6 for me is just a 'slightly better than watchable".7 for me is a good TV episode, 8 is great.
Films gain or lose points based on fewer factors due to the lack of runtime, bad casting, directing, photography, etc. These reviews are based on single films and not ongoing series and may not be subject to as many fluctuating ratings.
For me, a TV show will have "up & down" episodes, some are well written and others are just filler for a season. When I rate these episodes with a solid number of 8, they appear alongside classic movies that may have faced a rating drop solely based on bad directing/cast, etc.
My idea leads me to wanting either a more developed rating system being able to rate in the decimals or a separate color of rating system for TV programs.

I rate films frequently, but I wish I could use a point 5 system, for example, be able to rate films as 6.5/10 or 7.5/10 etc, because I am a very precise rater, does anyone else feel this would be a good idea? Also, to introduce 0 and 0.5 as lower possibilities than 1.
