Movie Ratings
All time favorite app! Only one improvement I would ask for. When rating a movie, I would like to have the ability to give a movie a half star when I feel it is necessary. There have been many movies that I would like to have given 6.5 or 7.5 stars. Keep up the great work!

Good morning fellow movie lovers (and in case I don’t see you Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night!),
After being a IMDB user for about 7 years now I reached out via email to customer service regarding the current rating system in place. They pointed me to the IMDB community. So I signed up and now take my idea to the people!
I believe that the traditional 1-10 rating system is too limiting for the average movie lover. This may work for a casual fan or someone who is looking to give 1s or 10s to a movie the love or hate. But why should I have to look at the Medacritic score of 0-100, then simply give the movie a 7 since I liked it but didn’t love it. Now 1-10 is better than a 5 star rating or some silly thumbs up or down vote. But as a fan service, we need more options to more accurately rate our movies.
There are several ideas/concepts that we could implement. However, I think the easiest would be to add decimals points rounded to the tenth (i.e. 7.6 or 8.1, etc). This way the IMDB user can be more comparable to the Medacritic with roughly 100 options for their ratings. And since the overall fan vote is already rounded to the tenth ascetically it wouldn’t be anything that looks too far from what is already displayed.
I have many a time looked at my ratings and have had two movies ranked at an 8 that clearly are different rankings but not enough to put one up to 9 or one down to 7. I’m sorry but Top Gun and Django Unchained are both 8s but one is clearly better (I’ll let you decide).
The functionally and technical aspects I’ll leave up to the professionals. However, I am sure that that adding more options to the rating systems would result in a better experience for the super fans and more accurately represent the movies actual rating which in turn creates a higher quality experience.
Keep up the good work!
