Rating films in 0.5 integers

Does anyone know why IMDb doesn't allow film ratings in 0.5s? It's only in multiples of 1, which is difficult because there's such a massive difference between an 8.5 and a 9, for example, or a 7 and a 7.5. I'd love if they changed this, it'd make rating so much easier
