I'm just happy you brought brack drag & drop. It's been so long.

Also keeping the views counter this time. Don't get rid of it please.

Right now, the "You have rated X out of Y" only seems to appear on my own public lists, would be cool to have for every list you view (your own private lists and public lists from other users).

Also the big grey bar background at the top (behind the title and description) feels a little bland. Maybe have a list's title posters (or just the 1. movie) somehow graphically integrated into it, like with individual title pages right now (with the opaque blurred background but you can still make out the color tone). Would make it more personal and individual.

Overall, I like it. Works well with the title page overhauls. Only profile pages missing now pretty much (until we get back the forums... haha) (unless.. 👀)

When I refine my list by genre and let's say I have 150 mystery movies, I see the first 100, then I click on "50 more" and I get those and 50 more random movies from my list instead of seeing only the 50 more mystery movies (200 total). Then there is "-50 more" at the bottom of the page when i click on that I see 100 more random movies (300 total).

Hi,

Not having a film's status (Announced, Pre-production, Filming, Post-production, Complete) visible next to the movie name will make my lists unusable. It won't work if it is hidden behind clicks.

Thanks.

@puhl Thanks for the feedback; while not directly on the page any longer, the production status is available via the "(i)" pop-up menu on the right of each entry on a title list:

which results in:

Hope this helps.

A largely-consistent behavioral motif of the across redesigns is that information is tucked away behind the rigor of extra clicks and CPU load.

I've been seeing several errors in text wrapping in the bios on people lists. Here's an example:

As you can see, this one has line breaks in odd places where they shouldn't be. The first line goes all the way to the edge of the right margin like it's supposed to, but the second does not. In most of the cases I've seen, however, all of the lines are cut off too shortly. Here's a more typical example:

I've stated before that I'm happy to finally be able to alphabetize people lists again, and I am, but why is it alphabetizing character by character instead of by last name, then first name? The old system was able to do that before being got rid of years back. This would be a lot more intuitive and navigable than sorting through a list alphabetized by first name, then last name. This current system doesn't even ignore punctuation, so if a name happens to have an apostrophe at the beginning (e.g. 'Old Man' Guettler) it appears at the beginning of the list when it ought not to.

I know that IMDb has some sort of algorithm capable of doing this, because the cast and crew sections still sort that way automatically when they don't have credits order to go off of. Why not apply that same method to the alphabetical sorting feature on user-created lists?

@Col_Needham I can't believe that in the "new lists" we have to go to the bottom of the page to load 100 more titles. My main list have more than 2000 titles, which means that I will have to do it 21 times to open the complete list. It was WAY more simple when the list was divided in pages and we only had to click in the "next" button at the top of the page to open the next one. The loading system, by the way, already doesn't work well in the search results (every now and then it simply fails) and you will apply the same failed system on the lists. Seriously: you guys are ruining IMDb.

I love the new design, it's so much easier to reorganize titles now! I'd suggest including a link to each title's page within the list. It would allow for instantly learning more about a movie in a list. Thanks!!

Why are the genres gone? They are the most important information for telling me what kind of show this is. This would be a big downgrade in clarity and ease of use.

Bug:

There's a weird discrepancy between the titles shown in old view vs new:

https://i.imgur.com/JRAYuge.jpeg

Is it possible to do a diff between the two results and see what are the 24 titles not listed under the new ratings view?

Feature request:

The new version doesn't list the genres anymore, even though there is plenty of space for them. Please restore them.

@Card Thanks for the feedback.

There's a weird discrepancy between the titles shown in old view vs new:

Please can you let us know the number of results you get from this and this

The new version doesn't list the genres anymore

The genres are available via the "(i)" link to the right of each item in a title list (scroll up this thread to here for screen-grabs in our reply to ApplicationCritic).

Hope this helps.

@Col_Needham

Isn't it better putting an on/off option for films labelled as "adult" at "your ratings" page or account settings? I couldn't find one...

This link you provided gives the real number for my account.

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?my_ratings=restrict&adult=include

But it is the imdb search page, not "your ratings" page.

Actually lists shows those films without restriction but your ratings page doesn't. I have a seperate list for my ratings, and it gives me the real number like

imdb.com/search/title/?my_ratings=restrict&adult=include gives.

Hi @hinayamazaki -

This is for Advance Search and is a feature to include/exclude as part of the search functionality, we are additionally reviewing for lists to make sure everything is working correctly and will provide an update shortly.

Hi, in the new version of my lists, if I export a titles list "Year" is missing in rows with unknown release Date, even if the year is available on the title's imdb page

and in some cases the release date is not the earliest release date, i.e. if it was shown on a movie festival first.

Chris

By the way please give the csv files the original name of the list back

The lack of clickable title links in edit mode on the new design is going to make my list-editing adventures in the future much more inconvenient. Isn't there any way this feature can be allowed to remain?

I realize this change may have something to do with making the list items draggable, but that doesn't mean they can't still have links on the title portion.

As a side note, I didn't notice this until taking these screenshots, but what's with the discrepancy between the date added in the old design vs. the new design? Some weird time zone shenanigans going on here?

@timothy_gray_el34lojg1aih1Thanks, we have reminded the software team of this issue (it was reported earlier in the thread but your screen-grab is extra helpful).

The date stamp is related to the timezone of the servers and how it is localised when displayed back to you (or not).

The new version of the Your Ratings page (https://www.imdb.com/user/ur<id>/ratings) does not display adult titles. And there is no way to turn on their display or make sure that they are always displayed as before.

I personally love the new list views, all of them: look fresh, modern and beautiful. A good step forward, thank you!

I understand the pagination concerns, but in my case, there is no list with more than 20 items in it.

Good work, IMDB! 😉👍

I have chosen IMDb because of its list. I don't like new list format. Template is orrible. In edit mode there isn't any way to reserch a specific title. That make exhausting editing the lists. I don't like it at all.

Under new IMDB layout I getting error when trying to open my Lists.

The List page doesn't open, just gives ERROR message like the one in the print screen file attached bellow.

The error text randomly varies like these ones:

"ERROR: Welcome to This Page. The first rule of This Page is: you do not talk about This Page."

"ERROR: But we'll see each other soon. Won't we?"
"ERROR: You need a bigger server"

@ccrc28 Thanks for the problem report.  Is it just the list with your 2,900+ item list or all of your lists on https://www.imdb.com/user/ur19379857/lists

If it is all of them, please try the steps outlined in https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/common-issues/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF (in particular, open a private/incognito browing window with plug-ins disabled, login there and try loading the problem lists).
