IMDb User Ratings Page Redesign

We are excited to announce IMDb’s redesign of User Ratings pages! In the coming days, IMDb will incrementally roll out its redesign for User Rating pages; instead of demographic data details (age and gender) we will now include a top 5 country filter and a ratings by episode heat map. The redesign follows ongoing site improvements and reflects changes suggested by IMDb customers, as well as our own in-depth research designed to enhance ratings content, discovery, and navigation.
In the coming weeks, we will continue to update IMDb pages throughout the site. We hope you enjoy these latest and upcoming improvements, and thank you for continuing to make IMDb the world’s most trusted source for movie, TV, and entertainment content.

Profile/activity pages show us some stats of individual user ratings. Maybe there is a way to use general stats on title ratings pages. I'm not sure how privacy settings or rules would influence that.
"Users who rated the most titles from the 1940s rated this title 6.7"
"Users who generally like Romance rated this title 9.0"
"Users who rated that other movie the same as you rated this movie 2.5"
etc.

Hi,
Why can't I see the exact voting numbers on the ratings page anymore? Please continue to show the exact numbers.
Sincerely,
Long time user and a stat enthusiast

As explained by tons of other customers, the new site design is awful. Besides all of the annoyances that other users have been claiming along 16 pages of complains, the 'Users rating' section has changed and that distinction between USA-Non USA voters (which was way more significant than the current by some countries only) and voters by age was very useful to me and now is gone, which I find really upsetting.
I don't expect you to go back to the previous classic version where we have been happy for 20+ years, but is it so hard to add the option to return to the old interface as in many other sites? For what I can see, this is a request from tons of users, and a very reasonable one at it.
Please, listen to your community. Thanks.

Where did imdb. com hide the movies and series ratings by age and gender in the new setup of its website?
What a disappointment that it removed this data!

Please bring back the Top 1000 Voters' votes. That was the only feature I ever visited IMDb for. Now this site is useless to me, the normal user ratings are useless to me. I beg you, please bring back the Top 1000 Voters' votes. Why would keeping the feature hurt in any way? It's just a small section on a very big site page!

Is it possible to revert back to the previous ratings system ?
The new one seems largely oversimplified. The previous system allowed to view the breakdown by demographics: Age, Gender.
While it could be seen as discriminatory, it did in fact provide valuable information as to the target demographic of a show or movie. I.e., some shows were (are) rated significantly higher by men, or by teenagers...
It was a good indication as to the likelihood that a show or movie could be for you, or not.
The new system completely obfuscates that.
There was also a US vs non-US voters and in some cases, it was also giving some hints ; for instance there were some foreign movies that were very highly rated (most likely too much...) by non-US voters, while completely downvoted by US-voters.

There used to be an IMDB rating by demographic when you selected the total number of reviewers. It seems to have gone away. Does it still exist somewhere?

Too bad...I don't care about how countries rate things or the episode ratings. The demographic by gender and age was extremely helpful. I think that my interests as an old woman may differ (maybe not always though) from an 18 year old boy...

Hello and happy Easter to everybody.
I can't find these anymore with the new display. Anyone knows what to do to get them again? They were very useful to me because I would almost look at my own demo stats before watching anything... :(
Thanks in advance,
Claude

Can you guys at least bring back the user ratings breakdown where it showed how many people gave a 10 rating, how many gave a 9, and so forth?
I feel like you guys really dumbed down the user ratings now and it's pretty much useless. Nobody really cares about how countries are voting, but I think age, gender and the overall rating score voting are faaaar more valuable resources that many IMDb users used.
I also noticed your site has gotten rid of the 'view full site' option, which I need to navigate the site on my phone. I can't edit my lists or view certain things without that function.
Honestly, none of the changes you have made in the past year were for the better and it seems like there is less information and the site is less user friendly now than it was before.

Why are ratings no more broken down by gender and age groups?

The removal of demographic data based on age is a welcome change to remove privacy concerns.
Displaying the rating counts in the title page in kilos (K) is okay. But on a stat page in a graph? Only a select few would even bother to go into the detailed ratings page. I cannot fathom why you've replaced numbers with useless Ks in the graph. The percents in the graph are approximations. So are the Ks. Why the double approximation? I do not see any reason why you cannot display the actual value for those who want more information.
Why remove the top 1000 voter ratings? This was instrumental in understanding biases in less popular or foreign movies. I use this so often before watching a movie or TV show. Irrespective of the weights, user-genre criticisms, and apparent "dishonest ratings", you are definitely alienating the top 1000 loyal users of imdb. :(
PS: Ignore the following rant. Imdb has been dumbing down as of late with various unnecessary UI changes, making it difficult to get any useful information without additional clicks and a lot of scrolling. It's really frustrating that features are being cut one by one to be replaced by ads. After tens of thousands of ratings, I ask myself, "Why bother?" IMDb might soon switch to a letter system with just S and A.

LOL -- literally the WORST data/stats redesign I've ever seen in my life. What kind of HORRIBLY useless breakdown is this? By COUNTRY? Not by age and gender? This is insane. I have been using IMDB for 25 years. Cannot believe you eliminated the most critical metrics and replaced them with dreck.
