The new design absolutely SUCKS!  Go back to the old format and we will forget about this abomination that is the current IMDb design.

At this point, my only issue with the new name page is that the thumbnails and lists could be in a larger font/size. It looks like it was meant for viewing on a cellphone, and while it may be okay to zoom/squint with a cellphone viewing on a desktop doesn't and shouldn't allow for that.

The view on a smartphone has a different default scaling of the images and textual regions, in such a way as not to have a need to zoom in, which kind of has two meanings in regards to the Web and HTML. I don't exactly know how to explain it. I suppose that I should consider saving a screen shot and sharing it here.

@Baybo

The credit is there:

You do have to expand his acting credits to see it.
Oddly, in this Nov snapshot of his page, I don't find Mad About You at all.

@bderoes  Thanks for answering ...

It is there, but it looks like the archive.org crawler accessed via Finland in this case:

Aha! I originally saw it listed among 1992s, but it moved to where I suppose it belongs--2019.

Thank you.

Quick thoughts I have after a glimpse at the new design:

Bad thing: still lacks dark theme.

Good thing: Actor/Director/Writer/etc. sections finally have poster pictures preview on them and thank Khala these lists made it to the final release as single-column lists, not a multi-column as they were in earlier versions. It's a bit annoying that you need to press "See all" to see them all, but I guess it's for optimization reasons and also not every user is like me and not every user wants to see a long list of all celebrity's works, so I guess it's kind of fine.

@Kolobamanacas i agree, 99% of the time my visit to IMDb website is to see a complete list of all the movies an actress has appeared in, and the specifics. The poster pics really aren't that crucial. if we must sacrifice the complete movie list on the name page, i could definitely do w/o poster pics.

what i don't really like is the large amount of space devoted to auto play clips that i don't want to see anyway, the middle section is unneeded journalistic filler - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000443/

and most of the images especially at the bottom are too large. just wasted space. Again, i come here to see someones movie list, anything more extensive than that i don't mind clicking a link to get to, but the complete list is the most important thing, and its now almost like an afterthought

Taken from a longer recent update here, for those people seeking a quick route to view all credits, please see the "All credits" link in the "All topics" menu as shown in this screen-grab (see red highlight to activate the menu and yellow highlight to access the all credits link):

Hope this helps.

@Kolobamanacas Thanks for the feedback.

Bad thing: still lacks dark theme.

This was covered in an earlier update but we will repost here ...

Our long term aim is to move away from the white background as we have already done on the homewhat to watchvideophoto and other modernised pages (and then allow light/dark mode options).  We temporarily compromised on a mixed background as all of the subpages still have a white background and our tests showed the change was too jarring when moving between the main name/title pages and the subpages.

Hope this helps.

I've just realized that the films with the "Announced" status do not show up anywhere on a person's IMDb page in the desktop version. Neither in the credits, nor in the sidebar section for projects in development.

Here's an example from my own IMDb page. My announced feature film Pure doesn't show up in my directing credits (only my post-production film We Put the World to Sleep is shown in the "Upcoming" section), nor in the "Projects In Development" side section (where only 3 films with statuses "pitch" and "turnaround" are shown). It is only seen in my "Known for" section, but only by chance because it happened to be among the post popular ones.

By default Pure is only shown on my IMDb Pro page and the IMDb mobile app.

I don't like that the first page of a person's page, doesn't have the short bio with the Read More link AND Their BIRTH DATE AND DEATH If they have.  Keep their Birthday and death on the FIRST PAGE!  I DON'T WANT TO CLICK ON IT TO SEE IF THEY ARE DEAD!

I see the birth/death dates (in 2 places!) and the minibio near the top of the page without clicking anything:

I didn't see that.  I have a sight issue so moving it to the right of the screen, instead of underneath the bio, threw me off.    I don't like when they change things.  Especially when it has been the same for many many years.  It is more difficult for me because of my sight issues.  Thanks for letting me know.

On the mobile version, the DOB and DOD are below the mini-bio sample.

IMDB used to be simple and functional.  I don't want or need the poster for every film title, along with all of that extra space it takes.  Just a simple list, PLEASE.  And don't make me have to click on a new box for every type of credit.  Just list them all as you used to years ago.  Every one of your "improvements" makes this site much more difficult to use.  Not long ago, I used IMDB every day, but the redesign now makes me frankly scared of visiting again.  I only encounter frustration now, so why bother?

Complete rubbish. Have you ever heard from Shakespeare "brevity is the soul of wit"????  or from Thoreau  "simplify, simplify"

Everytime you "improve" your website it gets more complicated, busy with pop ups and unrequested videos, and MUCH harder to use.  You changed things around a few years ago, and that was bad......these changes are even worse. Take a lesson from Wikapedia, a site both ordered and informative without all the un-neccesary clutter.

At this point I see a problem in the way an artist's credits are shown. I'm looking for Jane Morgan's TV appearances. Previously there were lists underneath each TV series, and we could save the page with all the info showing. Now we need to bring up a special panel, and ask for each season separately. See attachment. How does anyone figure this is an improvement??

To me it's the kind of degeneration we see on various sites as new programmers come in and think they can "improve" things.

@george_silver The “All credits” view does this, please see https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1873586/fullcredits/

This view can be accessed from the “All topics” menu in the upper right of each name page (there’s a screen-grab here).

Hope this helps.

@Col_Needham The fact that you think making extra clicks to get to something that was seen on the first page is a "good" thing shows how out of touch you are with those who use this.

This black box above as opposed to the clean list below is an example of wasted effort required. The old one below, it was all right there as soon as you opened the actor's page. Now you have to click the episode link on the right, and then click each season to see what they did.
Even using your suggestion to open the filter and go to All Credits is still more work and effort than the old one.
You have made this the equivalent of instead of going into your favorite restaurant, sitting down, looking a the menu, and ordering, you are now in a food court where to you go to one stand to get a drink, another to get a tray, a third to get a main item, a fourth to get a side, maybe a fifth to get another side, a sixth to get a desert, and finally to a checkout so you can go find a table to sit.
Of course, none of them are next to each other.
Clearly the design is to accommodate a cell phone, but this is tremendous waste of space on anyone's computer.
The conveyance of information is far superior in the old design than the new. I can't imagine who your beta test group were. Did you pick a local middle school?

And what user would ever think that there is something like that under this All Topics link up there?

By the way this site is not informing me of new replies. Only likes.

how...please....how...do I get the old IMDB look back ?

the re-design is chaos, I use this for work not fun and it's so much slower weeding through all those giant ads and separated content sections..

just give me TEXT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Benny. See Sprinklr comment 63878b2b038ef261b8f4b7fb (by Col Needham) please:

So, if you're visiting https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0428065/, then following the necessary steps will lead you to https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0428065/fullcredits, and likewise is the case with every IMDb name page, for the foreseeable future.

Aaand It's Gone!

We can't see a person filmography (all credits) like this anymore on mobile phones:

when we replace "fullcredits" with "filmotype" in address bar

Thanks IMDb for ruining everything. Fantastic job, guys.

Indeed that aspect of the mobile experience is being wrecked.

I like having films, shows, documentaries and shorts separate. It would be interesting if we could have settings for it that applied permanently. Instead of having to edit the filter every time I open someone's page.

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled It is really impractical having to edit the credits filter every time you open someone's page.

Hi, in the new presentation of my page   credits or function do not appear, as for the most recent, being head of development of Maimouna Doucouré's HAWA for AMAZONYou can't see it on my page, but only if you dig on HAWA's page.

Is it possible to display ALL THE CREDITS by default ?

Thx, François
