As long as I have the choice, I will stick with the old design!
Two-column style for the credits is a horror to look at and the main cause for visiting this site, quick access to a lot of information, clearly vanishes with this redesign, loads of the previously available information is now hidden behind a ``More v'' button in an annoying popup that would have to be visited for each and every entry. In addition, the list needs to be extended again and again after every 30 entries. At least a real list style (as opposed to this ``gallery view'') similar to the old design should be selectable!
While having thumbnails (and thumbnails larger than in the old design of the full cast and crew pages) is nice, these are too large, even in the two column design too much scrolling becomes necessary. It is probably a bad idea to have thumbnails looking like DVD covers with an aspect ratio of about 9:16, thumbnails that look like single pictures from a movie with an aspect ratio around 16:9 (in a single column layout) might be better. Actually, these thumbnails are inconsistent with the new style pages for titles, where actor thumbnails are circles (which is a very bad choice!).
In the German language version ``Credits'' is translated as ``Gutschriften'' which is nonsense (it refers to bank accounts and such, when money is deposited). Actually, even as a native speaker I do not know a German word for this, ``opening/closing credits'' would be ``Vorspann/Abspann'', and for actors ``Auftritte'' might be a reasonable headline, but that does not apply to e.g. directors. Then again, many German translations on old style pages are similarly bad, this should not be left to some automatic translation, but a native speaker should be consulted.

Hi,
short question. How can I switch back to the old pages?
I'm looking for episodes of series, an actor playes in. The new pages are completely unusuable for that.

My feedback:
TL;DR: EVERYTHING YOU ARE DOING IS WRONG! STOP IT!
95% of all my visits to IMDB are for going through the list of cast/crew for a production or which production an actor/other person was in.
In other words:
- for an actor I want the Filmography to be top. In easily browsed text format, in reverse chronological order.
- for a movie, I want the "Full Cast & Crew" list at the top. In text format. In some order of importance.
Don't make me jump through hoops looking for it!
And for every list, I of course want all of it. I am not casually browsing just for fun: I'm looking for specific information. Cutting the list off and putting a "More .." link is bad user interface design: that UI pattern might have a place somewhere, but that place is not here!
Show/Hide arrows are good for brevity. Having both an an arrow and the text "Show" is good for usability.
Of the other 5% of my visits to the site, I'm looking mostly for:
- actor/movie trivia/goofs/quotes, etc ...
- actor's age (e.g. "Was Roger Moore to old for Tanya Roberts in A View to a Kill?")
- movie release date in different regions
I visit this site for its easily available information, not for its design, "vibe", or whatever..
Very few people are. They practically don't exist. So don't design for people who don't exist!
The current version of /title/ is already poorer for having the "Top cast >" link, which makes it more difficult to use it.
Please don't destroy this site any further!
/ Johan

The Filmography was useful as a list, new format with pics and details good as an option but please retain the list too

Please have opt in / opt out as a personal user option, the new name page is counter productive, too many pics, too much needless info without requesting it, confusing and distracting and takes longer to scroll / access / find what I'm looking for.
The simpler old option is neater and easier to use.
But I understand some people may like the new look so a user setting for each member would be the way to go.

I am really sorry, but if there is a possibility of a no vote then I am afraid I vote no. With due respect to IMDB. As a busy contributor, I find this new design to be way, way, way, too 'involved' or too 'busy'. Too many clicks are required to access too many popups to see information pertinent to a contributors requirements. As a contributor, time is a very expensive commodity. A contributor needs easily readable, scrolled lists, by department, of work done by the person (as is currently the case), in order to determine the correct person for adding or correcting credits. Pretty picture laden pages, that take time to load, and have multitudes of links to get to required information, are not going to assist in contributing. I understand that things need to be fresh and relevant to the average person who is simply viewing the information, for interests sake or for fun, and I get that change is a given. My suggestion, request, hope, or wish, (as has been voiced by so many below) is that if this new page is going to be published, perhaps there could be a button link for IMDB contributors that defaults to the original list style to help us maintain our standards of accuracy and efficient use of time. I contribute because I enjoy it, and have always enjoyed a sterling relationship with the IMDB assistance team, but I feel that the bottlenecks to information access built into the new page will negatively affect contributors, and may even lead to contributor losses, due to time expenditure versus contributions achieved. My apologies to anyone who may take offence, but I do believe an honest opinion is better than none.

Having just read every post, so far, on this subject, I have to say that it seems to me that the majority sentiment appears to be, that while a very few things are nice, the majority feel that it is going to be counter productive to the contributors, UNLESS there is the ability to access the ORIGINAL pages. I for one would be very, very, disappointed to see IMDB loose contributors, with the resultant slowing of growth of contributions and information, just because a poor upgrade has been forced into the system. I would also like to point out an "apparent" but could "possibly" be a purely "circumstantial" link, to the fact that the submissions glitch has come back, seemingly coinciding with or caused by this new page design, just as the last submissions glitch appears to have had a link with the Main Page upgrades that were instituted last year or 2020.

It is annoying to click on "30more" and more...to see entire list with movies for a certain actor. I am using Ctrl+F to search in Chrome browser and before was great to see entire list when enter actor page. Please fix that problem.

Thanks a lot for your hard work & efforts to enhance the browsing experience of our greatly beloved IMDB. Although the new look seems much more neat & eye catching, I prefer the old one. In my opinion, the old look of the site actually extremely much easier to use, has more fields & data and finally it's much easier to find the desired data & information.

I don't like it at all. The old version makes it easy to find any information I might want - I just have to load the appropriate page and ctrl+f for the title. The new version is so much harder to use, for a number of reasons. Firstly, the "Known For" list looks exactly like the full list, which means that I spent a bunch of time hunting around the Known For movies for the button that would let me see the whole list before I realized it was below. Secondly, the full list features my very least favorite web design trend: making each item on the list pointlessly larger on my screen, and solving the problem of increased length by making me scroll, click, and load multiple times to see the full list. This makes something as simple as finding out what character an actor played in a certain movie into a massive pain. I can't imagine a situation in which I'd want to see only the 30 most recent movies an actor appeared in, and I don't see why seeing the posters for dozens of movies I might not be interested in is worth the inconvenience.
My suggestion is to do what Reddit did - make the new design the default, and allow people to see the old version by going to old.imdb.com or something. Then everyone would be happy.

Hate the new look. I don’t want a poster for every credit and to also hit a show more button. When it’s listed how it is now you can scroll and easily see all credits aslso how many episodes and stuff. The new look makes it harder and more work to work out stuff.

I'm sorry to join the majority but I hate it.
I fail to see the point of this "redesign" that comes on the heels of another ugly redesign.
It seems to be rather inconvenient to turn what is essentially a database of filmographies into a movie theatre poster area.
Not to mention how counter-intuitive it is, as a designer, to add more useless data in the form of posters to replace simple titles, just to have to hide 98% of the credits in the list to minimize your bandwidth usage...
How about leaving it the way it is so we can browse for the info we are seeking on IMDB, then read it?
As an example, I was simply looking for the names of the episodes of Westworld, a writer had been credited for.
On the regular IMDB page, I just had to scroll down once past a portrait, limited bio info and the previously introduced and pointless "known for" summary for dummies, to find a list, and after a quick glance at the first few lines, get my replies in this form:

Hey Team,
First of all, I would like to say thanks for rolling out an opt-in version of the new pages before enforcing it on (as opposed to the Comixology rollout).
While I understand the need to update the design (the old view had unnecessary padding on both the sides which I agree is a waste of space), the new design do have some room for improvement.
While I know some of the comments has been received by the team (ESPECIALLY the "Show 30" button), I agree with another fellow user that the new view does involve a lot of scrolling as compared to the old view (especially due to the thumbnails). So, while a single column view would not solve the issue (unless we change the aspect ratio of the thumbnails, which I'm not sure would look good), it would be great if there is an option to quickly go back to top of the page and/or navigate between different section of the pages with a floating button or something.
I wish for a "return to the top" button because if I'm a user at the bottom of the page, and I wish to search for another person, I need to scroll all the way back up (it can be a lot if the user has expanded all section). A better and easier implementation would be that when the user scroll down, the section
the IMDB Top Bar and the name section would remain at the top ("Freeze Rows in Excel) and the rest of the content would scroll below. This would solve the navigation problem as well since the sections is also present in the same line as the Name. Hope that makes sense.
P.S.- Sorry about the really long sentences and/or for any formatting/spelling mistakes. Typing on a mobile.

@Col_Needham 😀
? ?
Add a banner ad top of all the 11,746,200 Name Pages
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1000000/
Many of the 154,950,000 Users may not see the floating timer / clock button on the page
or know why it's there 🙄
