Idea: Allow Users to "Follow" Other Users

Most forums allow accounts to follow other accounts; this would be a capital idea for both GS and IMDb!  
If there's anyone on IMDb whose ratings/reviews you like you can give them a follow and be notified when they post something new.  Same for GS!

I don't think that get satisfaction has this possibility.

However, It would be nice to have this option on IMDb. 

For example:

Gets notification when a review is posted by the user that you follow (I know that SensCritique (only in french) is already doing this.)

Gets notification if one of his polls goes live

Gets a notification when the user creates a new public list

Gets a notification when the user rates a new title.

Of course, you would be able to sort your notifications. You wouldn't be getting a notification for every rating if you didn't want to.

I would love this for reviews. Letterboxd does it, and it's very helpful to find actual reviews I want to read.  Right now, if there's a reviewer whose reviews I like, they either need be prolific (to be fair, a feature I like that IMDb has and Letterboxd doesn't) or I'd need to bookmark their page, otherwise I might as well forget them.

You could save some Users Names in a Notepad Text file ...

These are not secret, hidden, or private profiles 
and can be found by any IMDb Registered User or Visitor

I can't see a single mention of "Same for GS". 

You replied to 0/2 of @flyinRyan3000 's post. 

flyinryan3000 was searching if there was an option to follow other users on IMDB and to follow/bookmark their lists, and that is why he signed up to the forum.

He didn't sign up to follow users on GS!!!

Basically, he is asking for 1/2 of what Narnia was asking before Sprinklr. and you posted about the other 1/2.

1-Flyinryan searches on IMDb to see if he can follow users.

2-He doesn't find answer on the FAQ

3-He goes to the forum

4-He needs an account to ask his question.

5-He creates the account

6-He finds narnia's post

7-He comments on narnia's post

It is pretty obvious that he only wanted to follow IMDb users and not Forum uses, because in his intro, he mentions that he signed-up to the forum. He didn't have an account on the forum before.

Thank Karen_P and cinephile. Cinephile is correct. I would like to follow IMDb lists to get alerts when they are updated or to easily find them via an IMDb bookmark. Also would be nice to follow users on IMDb (not the forum) when they rate items or create new lists.

Is there currently a way to follow friends reviews, ratings and lists?  I know you can share a link with people, but beyond that an interface to follow or friend people to have access to their lists, etc, would be great.

I'd like to have a function to befriend other users, so I can find them and see their lists.

My friends use IMDb to compile their watchlist and rate their watched movies.

Sometimes we want to share those lists with each other, but it's too convoluted to even share it.

Why isn't there a function to befriend other users? That way we can easily find each others' profiles.

I am not sure if this request has been raised before (I cannot imagine it has not been), but would you please consider adding a 'follow' or 'favorite' feature which we could use to follow favorite reviewers?  Yes, I know that we are able to bookmark their profiles, but it would be nice if they knew they were followed.  While we're at it, perhaps a "hide" button for those we are not very interested in seeing (ahem ... prolific reviewers who never rate anything higher than a 3; those who use "woke" and "wokeism" ad-nauseum)?  I think these would be great features!  Not as far as reopening the comments section, but a way to connect.
